The narrator had a nice voice but the constant swallowing sounds, stomach growls & background noise took me out of the story because it was too distracting.
If you linked here from the Amazon.com page for the wonderful Matt Dillon narration of ON THE ROAD... well, you are out of luck. Audible downloads this one. Eh. Not the same. Dillon sounds like a young guy regaling his travels with his good friend Dean as he reaches that moment of adulthood when you realize that those benny-dreams are ending and new chapters (whole books!) are starting.
Carradine's voice is... is it wrong to say too old? Too tired? Lacks the energy. More of a man in the December of his days desperately recalling his May days, but...
Ain't the same. Ain't the same.
Fives star book, but this ain't a 5 star reading.
