Magnifique lively narrator

What an amazing narrator, what an actor, what a delightful pleasure it was to listen to these many voices, to these many characters performed by one mighty talented man.
I had so much fun listening to it, listening to him that I must say BRAVO !!!

Awesome narration

The narration on this was fantastic. Listening to Fagan makes your skin crawl - it's that good. I had to get the unabridged version. I can't imagine Dickens with the wonderful commentary cut out. I highly recommend this book and am going to check out what other's have the same narrator.

Antisemitism loud and clear

It was very hard for me to rate this book. The story was very interesting and well written. However, every-time the narrator called Fagen "The Jew", it twisted my stomach. There is an underlying tone in this book from the beginning to the very end, that says, Jews equal the devil and Christians are the good people. It was quite disturbing.

If it weren't for that I would have given this book 5 stars. Because of that I want to give this book 1 star.

Great narrator.

Its Just Me

This was my first attempt at getting through Oliver Twist, I am mot sure why I didn't think ot woyld be as heavy anf wordy as it is. Its a good, deep, interesting book. A Lot of brain and emotional and moral food. I simply had a difficult time getting through some parts bwcause it seems like they rambled ceaselessly.

Captivating storytelling

Having known only the musical version of this story, I was delighted to really experience the the rich writing of the novel. This particular narrator was fabulous- really colorful voice infused with humor and weight, and gave life to all the characters expertly. What a treat!

Brilliant Performance

Oliver Twist is a well told story, and in this case it was narrated fantastically. I don't usually like when the narrator tries to do "voices", but in this case he was great.

Absolutely wonderful

What made the experience of listening to Oliver Twist the most enjoyable?

I have never read or seen the entire story, so this was a delight. Martin Jarvis brought the characters to life and was consistent throughout the whole story. I wouldn't even think of giving this anything less than 4 stars.
