Publisher's summary

One of the most significant books ever written by a head of state, the Meditations are a collection of philosophical thoughts by the Emperor Marcus Aurelius (121 - 180 ce). Covering issues such as duty, forgiveness, brotherhood, strength in adversity and the best way to approach life and death, the Meditations have inspired thinkers, poets and politicians since their first publication more than 500 years ago. Today, the book stands as one of the great guides and companions - a cornerstone of Western thought.

This book saved my life. Someday I will have my children read it, to prepare them for the problems I was so ill-prepared for in my own life

Inspirational. Worth your time and the credit.

Every word in the book is important. So much more to it than meets the eye. Centuries ahead of its time. I think this must be the first self help book ever written. So much great life advice in the book. Wish more people read it and incorporated the advice into their own lives.

Every library

Wisdom has so much value. This book remains in my library. It is a treat, delight and paramount to self reflection in way of becoming insightful and intelligent in a world that seems to shun and scorn at the very idea.

a fresh, light yet challenging way to see things

I loved it, i couldn't recommend it more to people who are in the quest for a form of existential reasoning that also succeeds in helping find comfort in knowing that nothing really is certain.

Best I’ve found for falling asleep

I may save this audiobook forever to use as a sleep aid.
This isn’t really a book anyway, just a bunch of internal thoughts and philosophizing by Marcus Aurelius that was never intended to be published.
Duncan Steen drones on in a monotonous monotone as I drift away with my earphones in. It’s glorious and better than any white noise I’ve ever tried.
