Jane Eyre follows the emotions and experiences of eponymous Jane Eyre, her growth to adulthood, and her love for Mr. Rochester, the byronic master of Thornfield Hall. The novel contains elements of social criticism, with a strong sense of morality at its core, but is nonetheless a novel many consider ahead of its time given the individualistic character of Jane and the novel's exploration of sexuality, religion, and proto-feminism.

Having grown up watching the movie with Orson Welles and watching every remake of the movie since then, I find that the book is so much better then all of those adaptations of the true nove!!l I laughed I cried I'm sad when it ended. but happy for Jane!!

Just love this story. I had seen the PBS movie and never read the book, it was spot on. The book was avidly better and engaging. The narrator Emma messenger only makes it better. A definite read for everyone looking for a classic.
