"Take a bow, Mr. Jarvis, take a bow!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. Let's face it, the only reason why you'd get this audiobook would be because of the narration. And boy does Mr. Jarvis nail the narration! I would rate this as highly as Fry and Laurie's depiction of Jeeves and Wooster.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Let me say Wooster for a change. Jeeves gets too much love anyway.

What about Martin Jarvis’s performance did you like?

Martin Jarvis is amazing. And yes, even though that is a cliched word, I really don't think anything else can describe how absolutely perfect his narration is.

    Any additional comments?

Jarvis does justice to the comic genius of Wodehouse. It's as if Wodehouse was narrating this!

"Jarvis is one half star below Cecil"

I prefer Jonathan Cecil's narration when it comes to Wodehouse, but that's not to say Martin Jarvis isn't great. If you love the Jeeves and Wooster books, this is a highly entertaining listen.

    "Laughed my way through"
Would you consider the audio edition of Carry On, Jeeves to be better than the print version?

    Brought the book to life.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Carry On, Jeeves?

There was an excellent 'prison moment'...

What about Martin Jarvis’s performance did you like?

He had so many wonderful, absolutely spot-on voices to match the characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Let's have some fun, dontcha know?

    Any additional comments?

    Sheer entertainment.

Classics, history, historical fiction, marketing, Napoleonic stuff and of course 'Boys own Adventure'. This is my bent. Occasional self help as well.

    "Thoroughly enjoyable"

At first you think why is this a classic and then the short stories work their magic and you are enjoying each sentence unfold into a delightful excursion into human folly and nature. A light entertainment without to much simplicity, this book has it. I will be listening to the other books in the series from time to time for some fun and laughs. Nice light entertainment.

    "The narrator was excellent."
What did you like best about this story?

I was quickly immersed in the story, forgetting that a single narrator was providing all the voices. The voices were well chosen for the characters.

    "Kept me smiling."
Is there anything you would change about this book?

No, not really. It was light & entertaining.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting was the infallibility of Jeeves. The least interesting? Bertie's reminisces.

    Which scene was your favorite?

No scene in particular, just Jeeves & his unique ideas.

Do you think Carry On, Jeeves needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes, a follow up book would be appropriate. Why? there is always a need for light reading. Why not? no reason at all.

    Any additional comments?

No, not really, we enjoyed it whilst travelling in the car.

    "Great light-hearted listen."

These Jeeves stories are great. The reader is not quite as good as J. Cecil, but is still passable.

I enjoyed listening to this much more than reading it, perhaps because the performance encourages me to get into the spirit of the wise servant and his twit of a "master." Even so, it makes me so happy for the Declaration of Independence!

    "Refreshing"
What does Martin Jarvis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I do enjoy the way he voices Bertie Wooster and Jeeves, but he doesn't do the women's voices right at all. They all sound about eighty seven years old. While I understand that he is, in fact, a man, he does voices for most of the characters, and his women character voices are always dreadful.
