Publisher's summary

This is the second story in the Anne of Green Gables series. Skinny little red-haired Anne has changed into a pretty 16-year-old and is all grown up - well, sort of grown up. The story opens with Anne as a school teacher at Avonlea school. When Anne reached the school that first morning, she was confronted by prim rows of "shining morning faces". She had sat up until nearly midnight composing a speech which she had revised and improved painstakingly. It was a wonderful speech with fine ideas. And then, she couldn't remember it!

Good story and perfect narrator

Do you have any additional comments?

I was surprised no one rated or commented on this audio. The narrator became one of my favorite ever since I listened to it.

Its as if Anne was real!

Excellent Narrator!!! She gives you the of hearing the language and sounds of Avonlea! Much better even than Rachel Mac Addams!

Anne of Green Gables part 2

The second book in the Green Gables series isn't quite as delightful as the first, but it's still a sweet story and the characters are all interesting and likable. This narrator has a nice voice, but I could hear pages turning throughout. Very distracting.

Lovers this book!

I usually lean towards heavier and often historical subject matter for my reading pleasure. However, with the world in such a dark place, it is so nice to be swept away into a joyous, simple world , were things work out well.

great book, like whole series

actor did a fine job reading but didn't really change her voice all that much to show different characters. seemd to have a limited vocal range. not the worst, but not the best. adequate

Enjoyable Experience

Now, I know you must be thinking... The narration is a little dull in the previews or overall dull. But she really isn't that bad! Her rendition of other characters really breathes life into her style.

I could lose myself and picture things very clearly. Sometimes I would lose interest however she would pull me right back in!!

The story itself is a continuation of "Anne of Avonlea" with Anne being a young adult going through her trials. I'm absolutely entranced.

The Narrator IS Anne!

I read many reviews before purchasing this book, because I wanted to find the best narrator of the bunch. And let me tell you Laurie Klein is it! Many people complained about hearing page turns, but I swear I only heard 1, and it was barley there? I'm definitely buying Anne of the Island next with Laurie Klein, and I'm going to take a look at her other readings. Fantastic experience! Her voice captures Anne to a T.
