Uplifting and inspiring.
I enjoyed learning about Alma’s journey. Her passion for her work is evident. I wish she would have talked more about other marginalized folks, such as the LGBTQ+ communities. However I know that she is writing what she knows I just hope her closeness to religion is not what affects the lack of mention.

Proud to be a Chingona
This book provided a call to action from all Chingonas to heal and grow. It was both educational and inspirational . I am committed to changing the narrative and telling my own story without guilt and shame thanks to hearing the author’s personal journey. And now I’m learning how to honor my ancestors by leveraging some of the privileges that I now possess to bring about justice in my community.
