Publisher's summary

This is audiobook number 15 in the Casca Series.

Casca Longinus, cursed by the crucified Christ on the hill called Golgotha, is condemned to outlive the ages wandering as a mercenary soldier.

His long travels eventually land him across time in a Carribean paradise. There he joins the crew of the infamous Bluebeard; while aboard, he must attempt to rescue the beautiful and mysterious Michelle LeBeau from those who would use her to build a pirate empire.

Leading a pack of marooned cutthroats, and aided by the tough-talking, hard-loving Katie Parnell, Casca may succeed. First, he must survive the sadistic tortures of the mutinous pirate crew.

Blackbeard was a minor character

Blackbeard was kind of a minor character and at times it was a little difficult to follow between the individuals that captain cast long was in countering and who he was fighting against in what the others motivation was. It was a good story, and the ending was very good, but I felt that there could’ve been better transition from chapter 2 chapter.

decent, book

not the best casca story, but good non the less. I feel this was not an area SSG Barry Sadler had as much knowledge on there the subject/plot felt forced

mediocre pirate story

As the 15th book in the casca series I expected a fantastic swashbuckling tale, however I found myself halfway through hoping that this book would end eventually. It is a shorter buck and I believe kind of a filler between one adventure and another and perhaps it was something that was requested of the author in the past. I enjoy pirate novels however this one was kind of cheesy if you will and was pretty generic. The storyline is mediocre and the character depth is kind of shallow but casca is himself and that does redeem the story a little bit. This book is good to pass the time and to fill in a gap in the story line that is not necessarily a good one.
