Publisher's summary

Top Gear and Grand Tour legend James May's quirky, entertaining take on cars, trucks and even the bicycle.

Why does a man with a Ferrari and a Porsche drive a Fiat Panda? Is going fast really necessary? Is it your fault if you get run over? Why will electric cars really save the planet (possibly)?

In Carbolics the UK's favourite petrol head (after Clarkson and Hammond) James May answers these questions and more.

Across 80 essays, James gives his quirky, entertaining take on cars, motorbikes, trucks—and explains why the bicycle might just be the best invention of all.

Written with James's characteristic wit and humour, Carbolics is perfect for petrolheads.

James May has a fun and interesting view on cars and explains it in his classic humorous way!

Great book and great fun! I’ve always been a fan of James May and this book was a great view into his mind on cars.

Massive fan of May, but this isn't his best

The narration feels a bit... Ehhh?? I've definitely heard May narrate better than this I feel. In Forza Motorsport, for example.

The articles are as interesting as his writings always are, but I don't think they translate to narration that gracefully
