Author did a good job of reviewing the principles throughout the book. Might need some updated examples though. I will definitely be implementing some of this stuff though!
I have read enough book, as my husband says, to know everything on leadership and team building. This book has shown me a higher mountain where wise men teach. The Oz Principle teaches and leads you to understand yourself, those you work with and way to live above the line. It delivers thought provoking solutions that make you thirsty for more. it is so enriching I bought the paperback version to mark up and I have signed up for the self direct learning.
There was no one most memorable moments in the book but a continual stream of ideas, principles and applications that kept me engaged and wanting to start applying what I have learned.
Wayne Shepherd's voice is easy to listen to. He delivered the message with the inflection and emphasis that made this an enjoyable listen.
I was amazed how many stories told were as if the author was reading my days diary of events. People, places and names may have been changed but I work with every one of these people types. That tells me I am not along in the desire to see better of myself and others on my team.
Get this book, listen and listen again. You will be better for it.
This book was recommended to me by a colleague, and I was not disappointed. Mr. Connors outlines, in the simplest of terms, what must be done to experience happiness in all areas of life. Implementing the principles outlined in this book may not be easy, but it's simple. Connors does an excellent job to point out the characteristics of below-the-line thinking, and shows the steps to defeat it. I didn't realize until I heard this book how much of my own time and energy I was still wasting blaming outside circumstances for my own problems instead of taking control to confront them head on. If you're not open to self-change, you will likely find this book to be a waste of your time, but if you are, it provides a great foundation to begin.
Say something about yourself!
I found the journey enjoyable but a painful experience of Self Examination to a greater person through the end.
The Best thing of the Whole Book is that it is Real and principles are applicable to all levels of life whether in Business or Home life relationships.
Shepherd keeps information alive and interesting.
The Last 3 chapters were a real call to action for me and going through the exercises is a must if you are truly committed to Getting Above the Line and Staying there.
A must read for everyone that wants to maintain strong long lasting relationships.
Yes, I could learn more n more each time I listen to the oz.
What I liked best is how the author explains in detail how we can use it in our workforce
"Excellent and informative"
Practical applications for yourself and others you're managing
Pace was a little fast - you tune into that over a period of listening but I found it a bit much at first.
