Publisher's summary

Keith Ferrazzi is a master networker who claims his secret is merely reaching out to other people. And what distinguishes highly successful people from everyone else is the way they use the power of relationships, so that everyone wins. In Never Eat Alone, Ferrazzi presents the specific steps and mindset he uses to connect with the thousands of individuals in his Rolodex.

Ferrazzi's form of connecting to people is based on generosity, helping friends connect with other friends. He distinguishes genuine relationship-building from the crude, desperate glad-handling usually associated with "networking". In the course of the book, Ferrazzi outlines the timeless strategies shared by the world's most connected individuals, from Katherine Graham to Bill Clinton, Vernon Jordan to the Dalai Lama.

Chock full of specific advice on handling rejection, getting past gatekeepers and more, Never Eat Alone is destined to take its place as an inspirational classic.

Thought provoking

I really enjoyed the book.Keith gives you ideas, not only how to think of your "true calling" but how to follow through with it. Following throught requires alot more than just bringing an idea into existence, but networking with others to help you...and them get to another level. the adage that you can get there solo is false.

I have to admit that this is gold

The concepts explained here are truly a guide on how to live a life. I believe that relationships are at the core of everything, and Mr. Ferrazzi did a phenomenal job by putting together all these concepts, ideas, and action plan to make the best out of our ability to interact with people.

I am convinced that if i put to practice everything thought here, i would be successful.

Motivating

Some people are not people person. They shy away. They fear rejection. Some just don't realize what networking is, or what it can do for you. This book is motivating.

Unless you are already there or halfway there, already motivated - this will set you on the path to get there.

Don't look for tools, tips & instructions - this is not a networking manual. And certainly not for hacks.

Great read for advancing your career!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book I found to be novel, insightful, and a must read for anyone who works professionally, runs their own business, or for those who just want to meet others. It's the first book I have downloaded that I think I will listen to repeatedly. I work in the social services field and I will definitely be using his suggestions in multiple ways.

What other book might you compare Never Eat Alone to and why?

It's truely novel. The only other book that I think is as good of a read is the 4 hour work week. It's not really similar but it's equally as useful.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the description of what one should do at a conference.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Its self help there is no reason to make a film about it.

Entertaining Instruction

loved the balance of storytelling and how-to and I loved the realistic advice on how to make it your own. very entertaining and easy to apply to your life right away. I think it gave a great full picture of networking as well, from goal setting to understand where and who to network with and examples of scheduling on how to get it done.

Decent Listen

I gave this title a listen after starting to read the book though never getting around to finishing it. I generally enjoyed the information and advice.

I thought the author referenced interesting real world examples to back up his claims. Order this book if you are interested in hearing one persons accounts and views on how to be successful through networking, goal setting, and connecting with people. No complicated systems are presented, just solid accounts of experience and knowledge that you can apply to your life and career.

The narrators voice obviously got on others nerves though I guess my expectations are not that high cause it didn't bother me all that much.

It's all about Networking!

What did you love best about Never Eat Alone?

I love how he points out that you need to enlist the help of others to make yourself successful. In our society individualism is highly valued, but Keith points out that we need others.

What other book might you compare Never Eat Alone to and why?

Definitely a lot like Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People. Both books share a lot of concepts and techniques.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Never Eat Alone?

Trying to meet new people and connect with them. Now when I get someone's business card, I'll try to contact them soon afterwards. Because I'm a shy person, I'll start with an email.

Good Info, OK Book, Bad Narration

The Book:
I've read this book and listened to the Audiobook and have to say that the info presented is of good quality, but the method of presenting the information leaves a lot to be desired. In writing the book, Mr Ferrazi has tried to present his views on networking and does a very good job of explaining how he has done this and been successful. However, he also tends to "drop names" and come of in a very "holier than thou" manner.

As a book, it's what it is...someone explaining how they have become successful at what they do and is worth the time to read. The reader will get some nice "nuggets" of information that can be used.

The Audiobook:
The narrator comes across as someone who is trying to act "high class" with a nasally voice and blue-blood attitude. There is something about his voice that has just turned me off from listening.
