I teach WordPress web design online, focusing on the *design* part - and fun:) I love learning new concepts, hence all these audiobooks;)
It's okay - but basic. It's a fine enough book if you're looking for the basics, because you're just starting out, and have never run (or dabbled in) an online business.
If you're already even modestly experienced, but would like to know specifically about how to make it work "working while travelling the world" I suggest you get Natalie Sisson's book The Suitcase Entrepreneur instead.
Tell us about yourself!
The best book on this topic I've ever read (or listened to). Smart, reasonable, and very well organized. Almost didn't make this purchase but am really glad I did. Only issue is that the narrators have heavy English accents, which, if not from UK, can be a little tricky to get used for those of us on this side of the Pond.
This book is a complete "how to"'for everyone who wants to transform the 9-5 grind into a laptop lifestyle. It is honest and sincere. Greg and Fiona explain everything in simple terms and outline the steps to success while pulling no punches. A great book to listen to while you exercise, but packed with so much info. I will get a hard copy to refer to.
After listening to Living a Laptop Lifestyle, I've been inspired to delve deeper into my own creative potential. Any book that stimulates a renewed self-confidence to participate in the act of creation is worth spending time with. This book does that, while also encouraging readers or listeners to make money being creative, by starting an online business. The wisdom the writers share is a compilation of their personal journey to success. They offer tons of ideas on how to get started and how to succeed. Of course, one isn't going to attain the same success from just reading this book. Like all successful people, you still have to stay committed to your goals. You would do well to read or listen to this book, because if anything, it offers encouragement and affirmation; it motivates and inspires you to pursue your goals.
"Devoid of useful content and awfully narrated."
This might be a good book if you were a time traveller from 1991. A weird blend of the patronising and the cringeworthy. A few highlights from this book:
* Stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself you deserve to be rich and drive a sports car every day
* What to do if "your motherboard crashes" (yes really - what does this even mean!)* Why broadband is preferrable to 56k modems
* How to "pick a niche" from the various snake oil salesman - make money quick! Tarot. Weight loss pills. All these could help you realise your positive affirmations! Unbelievable.
* What google is and how to "do a search"
* How they spuffed £50k on nonsense get rich quick products.
Apparently this book is written on the aeon that is 18months experience. Their major sucess? a "make 1k in 1month" internet sales product they admit to cobbling together from skype recordings.
This book represents the worst of pyramid selling for the gullible. Stay clear.
Maybe another member of the "slow-readers" group from the green table. For the first 5 minutes or so I honestly thought that this had been read by Siri.Virtually unlistenable.
I can genuinely say I learned nothing from this book.
Please, please, please stay clear. I'm sure they're lovely people and I wish them all the best, so long as they don't try to put together another book.Read Tim Ferris' 4 Hour Work Week instead.
"This is a Life Changing Book!!!"
Very interesting Book, extremely rich in content & Information about Internet Marketing. I have recently embarked on my Laptop Lifestyle journey. If you are like me and trying to get out the traditional 9 to 5 rat race, I'd strongly recommend you buy this book. The information Greg & Fiona provide is absolutely priceless.
