Publisher's summary

A groundbreaking look at why our interactions with others hold the key to success, from the best-selling author of Think Again and Originals.

For generations, we have focused on the individual drivers of success: Passion, hard work, talent, and luck. But in today’s dramatically reconfigured world, success is increasingly dependent on how we interact with others. In Give and Take, Adam Grant, an award-winning researcher and Wharton’s highest-rated professor, examines the surprising forces that shape why some people rise to the top of the success ladder while others sink to the bottom. Praised by social scientists, business theorists, and corporate leaders, Give and Take opens up an approach to work, interactions, and productivity that is nothing short of revolutionary.

Givers Gain!

A beautiful book differentiating people on 3 kinds of behaviours. The most successful and satisfied people who leave a legacy behind are givers. The book is full of real life examples. Adam Grant never disappoints.

Recommend to any professional

This book illuminates the different types of people in any professional environment. It further explains how givers can still be at the top of their profession without sacrificing their desires to help others.

He practices what he preaches

Would you listen to Give and Take again? Why?

Yes. The concepts are something you should ingrain in your life

Any additional comments?

There are very few authors one writes to. And Adam is the only one who has given me a genuine response to my mail. I was deeply influenced by his book, and offered him a couple of ideas of my own. I was not expecting a personal reply, but Adam gave the time and replied to the mail. I certainly think it is a trait of somebody who practices what they preach...

Fantastic Book with Helpful Strategies

I really enjoyed this book. It’s filled with anecdotal stories that help illustrate that being a giving person is the most successful strategy for getting the most out of life. The tips on how to avoid becoming a door mat were very useful. An excellent and easy listen!

Learned how to inspire giving

This book was challenging at the beginning because it left out some significant aspects of the person doing the giving. Marginalized communities are not always seen for their giving as a gift, more times than not it is seen as an obligation or simply not recognized at all.

Learning to be okay with asking for help

Amazing read and interesting to learn more on both being a giver and a taker.

Inspiration and Gratitude

This is what I feel after listening this audiobook. Thanks Adam Grant for taking the time to write what many of us have thought bet never knew how to articulate it

Good book, bad narration.

I liked the book but narration, and accents, are painful. This one might be better suited in hard copy.

Great read for career climbers

I found the research compelling & interesting , esp for professionals. I kept asking how I could use it outside the workplace. A bit tedious at times because of the insertion of research, though I understand I may not have been the intended audience.
