Publisher's summary

In 1982, eight teens disappeared from the Crater Lake School for Boys. Forty years later, a mass grave is found, containing the remains of seven of the boys. What happened to the eighth?

Del Honeycutt and best-selling mystery author Sabrina Spencer have carved out a quiet life on 17 acres in New Hampshire. A construction crew breaking ground for a guest house comes across the mass grave. It plunges Del and Sabrina into a deadly game of cat and mouse, involving murder, a secret project, a lost diamond, and, of course, lies.

Strange story, but good

This was a strange story of revenge, greed and multiple murders/murderers. I felt sorry for Randy but not enough to really justify his revenge tactics. It must be horrible to have your parent give you away to a stranger in the middle of the night. The trauma being the only survivor of 8 boys with all the damage caused to him, was great. Interesting how everyone's greed mixed in with murder and revenge. Randy's crimes were the only ones based on revenge. In the end, the full and true story gets revealed.
