Publisher's summary

For years, I’ve watched her - followed her, stalked her. At first, it was about protecting her, keeping her safe and out of harm's way. Then it became a full-blown obsession. I vowed to never touch her again, to protect her from everyone, including myself. But when enemies lurking in the shadows threaten to take all that away, I know I’ll do anything to keep my butterfly safe...even if it means betraying the only family I’ve ever known.

This stand-alone dark romance contains mature themes and sexual situations.

Story Is OK but need better character development

There were multiple inconsistencies within the story where they would say one thing and then later on in the story would be the complete opposite and it just got kind of annoying after a while. Also I think within the book series The author needs to have different reactions and catch phrases for each character. The 3 main male characters all say exactly the same phrases when being possessive and it just seems like each character could kind of have their own way of saying the same thing to show they are different people.

Butterfly

Lucca called Claire his butterfly because when he met her she was wearing a butterfly top and didn't speak to him. As the years go by he continued calling her his butterfly and she began to despise the nickname because she felt like she was being kept in a gilded cage.
It takes a lot for Lucca to realize that he's not just protecting Claire, but that he also love's her. He is so possessive of her that he would do anything to keep other guys from looking at what is his.
Claire finally gets tited of the mixed signals and after reading a letter he wrote and forgot to get rid of, she decides to leave and not leave a trace. This is when Lucca finally realizes that his feelings go much deeper than he was willing to admit.
I really enjoyed the push and pull of this relationship and Claire's disdain of Lucca yet she still has feelings for him that she just can't shake.

For sure a 5 star story

This is my favorite of the series. Starts when the heroine meets the hero at a young age. Always a protector. It is a really nice story despite it being a mafia romance.

Great

I love this book but Claire took to long to grow up. She is so immature. But I am glad she finally figured it out

Claire and Luca

Claire met Luca when she was a child. Her father was horrible and beat her terribly. The last time he beat her, Luca killed him with his bare hands. That beating caused her to lose hearing in one ear. She had no one else (her horrible mother had already left) so Luca put her with a nice family. Luca shadowed her for her whole life although she did not see him. He was obsessed with her. She gets kidnapped and Luca goes crazy. He even betrayed Julian to save her. A lot happens in this book before they get their HEA. I enjoy J.L. Beck and C. Hallman's writing style. Alastair Haynesbridge and Samantha Summers did a great job with the narration.

Not at worth the READ

This one is a sleeper. It has repeated lines from the first 2 books. The characters are in trouble and are told that their life is in danger, but for some STUPID reason they refused the help. I fast forward most of the chapters just to get to the end. HEA

Oh it seemed like they did over and over again with saying I don’t need to be with him I’m not good for her back-and-forth for like four hours I like the other two books but I didn’t really like this one
