Publisher's summary

Sister and brother, Cara and Brom, from the Earth-like planet Ammeron, visit nearby idyllic planet Jashar.

There, at a young age, they meet and befriend Boda, a very gentle, advanced, and ageless sage who becomes their teacher.

Each summer, year after year, they spend time with Boda. In one last summer together, Boda shares timeless truths with Cara and Brom, who then return to Jashar to begin their careers.

Twenty-five years later, unexpectedly, Boda visits with Cara and Brom on Ammeron. Now, from a mature perspective, Cara and Brom once again seek clarity and solace from Boda’s counsel.

In thought-provoking dialogues, within a story that spans dramatic personal and planetary changes, many aspects of life are addressed and explained.

Some excerpts:

  • "That which best warrants accumulation is stored in the mind."
  • "A change is an adventure not to be feared, an opportunity not to be missed."
  • "The most mysterious trip is into another person’s life."
  • "The vessel that you empty, as you share what you have, is forever refilled."
  • "The prelude to friendship, trust is a first cousin of love."
  • "Cannot the boldest statement be delivered in the form of the gentlest question?"
  • "Love guides, wisdom knows, and power does."
  • "He who seeks to draw attention to himself will soon stand alone."
  • "Look to today and the future will take care of itself, and the past will be a fond memory."
