I knew who the villains were before they even said who they were, except for the last person, I did not know that he was going to play a significant part of the book dealing with Ash

An Enjoyable Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, and found it very entertaining. Ash doesn't know how he ended up in a cave or how he got super powers, but when he sees a young woman in trouble, he know he must help her. As he struggles to remember his former life, Ash works on his abilities to fight crime. All his efforts bring him two strange enemies and another mystery to solve. This tale is filled with interesting characters, suspense, lots of action and some humour, making it very enjoyable. I'm looking forward to book 2.

Wasn't sure at first, but did enjoy it!

I wasn't sure how this book was going to go, as it was away from my usual genres, but I really enjoyed it.  It was like a comic book and Marvel/DC movie for my ears, yay!  This particular story introduces the chatacter of our hero Ash (a.k.a. "HEAT") and his new friends as Ash tries to come to terms with himself and his new powers.  Villains incoming!  Twist near the end, with more books to come (starting book 2 now!)

Great superhero story that introduces Heat!

I really enjoy superhero stories, especially when I need a fun read to take a break from the events of the day. Black Magnet provides an introduction to Ash/Heat as well as Black Magnet and the Gatekeeper. Along with being an excellent action story, the interactions between all the characters provide a very good introduction to who Ash/Heat is as well as they begin to reconstruct his past. I’m looking forward to experiencing the next two episodes in this series. Nicholas Dunker’s narration really brings this story to life, his voices for each character are great.

Action and Suspense

Black Magnet is a fun and enjoyable read full of action, suspense, humor, and questions. Ash woke up in a cave with no memory of who or what he was. Ash saves a young lady's life, and in return, she her colleague Perry set out to help Ash discover his past. Ash has a deep seeded need to save want to save people no matter what, even if they discover his hidden abilities. While wanting to help, he soon discovers he has two enemies that want him out of the picture permanently. What will they discover about his past? How will he defeat his enemies? I won't say more, but this story is a must-read/listen to for the answers. I can't wait to start book two for more adventures and answers. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves books that involve resilience, adventure, suspense, and a little humor. I received this book for free upon my request.
