Heidi Siefkas was a happily married, globetrotting professional who seemingly had it all - until a tree limb in New York's Hudson River Valley struck her down, breaking her neck and leaving her unconscious. Suddenly, life as she knew it stopped. She lost her independence. She lost her career. She watched her marriage disintegrate as she confronted a trail of devastating lies about her husband's double life. She had lost all that mattered, but she was a survivor. She fought to restore her health, repair her broken heart, and rebuild herself. Along the way, she gained clarity about her core values, ultimately coming to a deeper understanding of what it means to have it all. Through down-to-earth, short vignettes, When All Balls Drop shows us how it's possible to look up in spite of pain, deceit, and loss. Heidi's memoir - rich with hope and humor - inspires anyone who's had to confront tragedy and reassess their life in the wake of life-altering events.

I once again found myself unable to "put this book down". This time, since it was the audio version, I found myself looking forward to road trips. Hearing Heidi's roller coaster ride of experiences using her own voice allowed me to truly understand the emotions she was experiencing. This made her story all the more triumphant, inspiring and thought provoking. Here's to looking up!
Heidi is extraordinarily honest about her recovery process and the trials through which she overcame her adversity.
You certainly get a better sense in the audio version as the author is also narrating. The tone of voice and even humor comes through loud and clear.
Other than the author, I enjoyed many of the characters. Each added something special from the pets, Meg and Kasha, and Dr. R to the brace man.
No, but I hear that the second book With New Eyes: The Power of Perspective is coming out in audio too.
I listened to it on a plane. However, it could be done in multiple sittings because of the short vignettes or like I did, all in one sitting.
Bravo! Looking forward to With New Eyes and future books.
