One of the most anticipated autobiographies of this generation, Arnold Schwarzenegger's Total Recall is the candid story of one of the world's most remarkable actors, businessmen, and world leaders.
Born in the small city of Thal, Austria, in 1947, Arnold Schwarzenegger moved to Los Angeles at the age of 21. Within 10 years, he was a millionaire businessman. After 20 years, he was the world's biggest movie star. In 2003, he was elected governor of California and became a household name around the world.
Chronicling his embodiment of the American Dream, Total Recall covers Schwarzenegger's high-stakes journey to the United States, from creating the international bodybuilding industry out of the sands of Venice Beach, to breathing life into cinema's most iconic characters, and becoming one of the leading political figures of our time. Proud of his accomplishments and honest about his regrets, Schwarzenegger spares nothing in sharing his amazing story.

What an amazing life story! I like that Arnold reads a short part in the beginning and again at the end. There is a lot to be learned from his experiences. I have a whole new respect for him now.
As a child of the 80's I grew up watching Schwarzenegger movies and loved them.
Schwarzenegger is an inspirational figure who's single mindedness and drive are the tools that got him to the top. I think we can all learn a thing or two from his relentless pursuit of his goals. However just like the rest of us Schwarzenegger has his floors too and he does touch on those in this book. Arnold simply runs over anybody that gets in the way of him reaching his goals and that's not always a good thing. Learning about Arnold's life and the way in which he sees the world was very entertaining and insightful for me. For anybody that is interested in Schwarzenegger this book is golden.
A very comprehensive telling of Arnold Schwarzenegger's life. I can't wait to see what he adds later in life. It sounds like he's not done with Government and has a good mind for business.
I would recommend this book, but only to the right friend. Arnold does not shy away from language or personal subjects, so I'd be careful before I recommended this book.
This is the first book I've listened to by Arnold.
This is the first book I've listened to by Stephen or Arnold.
Yes, Total Recall could be a movie. I'd cast Arnold Schwarzenegger for the leading role.
A strong, inspirational recap of the life of Arnold. I'd start to look up to Arnold so much, only to be disappointed by how he chooses to live his life. It's a good reminder to never meet your heros.
Amazing story. Very inspirational. Loved the way narrator emulated Arnold's accent. Loved the details about training weather at gym or for the movie. Was surprised to know how many things has he managed to accomplish.
The political years took to long to cover, could have cut this down. Solid with 20 + hours.
"Time well spent"
Such a diverse and fascinating life. Don't pre judge this as another celebrity cashing in. This entertaining, pragmatic and honest account on life as an immigrant, sporting giant., movie start and politician is totally immersive.
I had a lot of fun and learnt a lot from this audio book. I hope you will enjoy it as well.
"More accidents than I realised!"
Comprehensive story of Arnie's life. couldn't stop listening! next book is going to be hard to top.
"witty & informative"
Loved it! The story continously had entertaining parts while staying informative on the business part of the story. He really filled in the reader with all the information, or quite many information about how he got to his goal. The feel of progression from a country boy to a multi million dollar actor seems just as real as life itself. Definitely recommend this book! & Narrator also did a very good job!!
"Get down (loading)! Now!"
An absolutely fantastic insight into a genuinely intelligent and inspiring individual. And if that last chapter doesn't make you want to go and deadlift as much as you can I don't know what will. Top marks.
Excellent book, the only criticism is that Arnie reads the first and last chapter and the rest is by Stephen Lang. Wish he did more Shame
Great story, enjoyed it but would like to have heard more about his film career and less about his political career. Wished Arnold had read whole book, narrator sounded like a computer.
A sometimes moving story of a battle against adversity. Grit and determination win through. Inspiring.
"Worth a read"
Inspiring book. I can relate to view on life. A must read. A+ Very good
