Life as Kim and Krickitt Carpenter knew it was shattered beyond recognition two months after their marriage when a devastating car wreck left Krickitt with a massive head injury and in a coma for weeks. When she finally awoke, she had no idea who Kim was and no recollection of their relationship. While Krickitt experienced personality changes common to those who suffer head injuries, Kim realized the woman he had married essentially died in the accident. And yet, against all odds, Kim and Krickitt fell in love all over again. The Vow tells the true story of this journey, one of a commitment unbroken and a vow fulfilled. Includes an exclusive interview with Kim and Krickitt Carpenter!

yes I listened while working
yes I did before listening to it- The movies is VERY different
How the marriage vow was respected and honored, eventually turning the worst kind of tragedy into a miracle love and grace.
Kim and Krickitt Carpenter were equal favorites
Yes, but couldn't because of time restraints
I travel a lot driving so the audio book is for me.
I love the way there faith was portrayed in the book, the importance of God in there lives. The movie left out that important fact.
My favorite part of the book is how they feel in love in the first place. And to fall in love all over again.
I did laugh and I did cry..
Absolutely! This story inspires me to want to be a better spouse. It causes you to re-examine the vows made at marriage and want to respect them even more.
Kim's commitment was unbelievable. His determination to get to his wife's side right after the accident was so moving and then his decision to stay true to his wife despite the numerous obstacles and challenges. His story is amazing.
Yes! The story just keeps unfolding and leaves you wanting more.
The story itself is inspiring, but the writing was not beautiful or gripping. I wouldn't listen to it again, though I am glad I know about this story of commitment.
You got lost in the story.
How devoted Kim was to Krickett after the accident
He told the story with such meaning
This book is a true act of love. It will make you laugh and cry
If you have any questions on what love is I suggest you listen to this book.
I had heard about the movie, but wanted to read the original story before seeing the movie. I am disappointed that the "Hollywood" version of the movie doesn't tell the TRUTH about how important Kim and Krickitt's faith and belief in God helped them to get thru this incredible, yet miraculous 7 year period following Krickitt's severe head injury. This story is ALL about FAITH, BELIEF, promise, comittment, etc...how can Hollywood leave that out?
The way the extended families helped out and supported this newly married couple.
John McLain is an excellent reader. He doesn't put too much drama into his voice in the annoying way that some readers do. The volume stays constant, so this is a wonderful for listening to in a car while driving.
Until DEATH do we part!
When people VOW at a marriage ceremony to LOVE, in sickness and in health, until death do we part - they really don't know what they are comitting to and what those VOWS might really mean. This couple stayed together, thru sickness and health after just a few weeks of marriage. The MOVIE doesn't lend justice to the part this couple's faith and trust in GOD played in their struggle. Hopefully, the Movie will lead people to reading the true story or listening to it on this audio book.
I enjoyed this book because we live in a society now where people do not take their vows seriously at all. I am glad that there are some people out there who still believe in marriage and to take someone for better or for worse. it would have been very easy for him to leave but, he decided to stick it out and God blessed their marriage beyond belief. This is a book that i think everyone will love.
There is something extra special about a true story. This couples' commitment to The Vow they made to each other in the presence of God is powerful, and a challenge to others who today are so quick to give up on their marriage vows.
The ability to "read" the book while driving.
Longer than I can sit still, but my interest in the story was strong enough.
Now I can't wait to see the movie!
I had to switch gears when I first started reading. The events described are very different from the movie, and the book is centered around God. It was a beautiful & very real story. The narrator read a bit cheesy, but appropriate for this kind of book.
