Great Story, Horrible Narrator....

Yes. Because of the story.

What did you like best about this story?

As far as I know, this is the only book ever written about the 160th SOAR. It tells the story of the unit, how it began, and highlights the bravery and professionalism of the men within it's ranks.

What didn’t you like about Patrick Lawlor’s performance?

He tends to place emphases inappropriately. He is way over animated and almost cartoonish.

Any additional comments?

This is the third book I've read that Patrick Lawlor has narrated. One book was written to appeal to a wide audience and not just the military / history enthusiast. That was okay. The other was written about a Special Forces unit in Iraq. Mr. Lawlor's narration was equally as annoying as this one, but that book was relatively short... Being a former Army Aviator myself, it's difficult to make my way through the audible version of this book. The book itself is very good.

I wish there were more vignettes from this remarkable unit. I understand the need for secrecy, but what is spoken of is something to be proud of.

Cried many times

I’ve grown up riding in an OH6. my father has been flying for a long time. This book brought so many stories to life. I was visualizing so much of the book. Lots of laughing & lots of crying

History Made Real

Fasinating read that held my attention from the get-go! Reads more like a novel than just dry historical facts. I enjoyed the descriptions of the different types of helio's and what part each can play in certain situations of battle. I was glad the authors of the books gave us real people and real missions. Mr Lawlor did a great job with the narration. Completely enjoyable.
