Publisher's summary

Death Waits in the Dark: Six Guns Don't Miss is a thrilling story about a Night Stalker at war. This is the story of an attack helicopter pilot who flew with the renowned 160th Special Operations Regiment (Airborne), and the incredible friendships Greg Coker and his fellow compatriots forged in the heat of combat.

The Night Stalkers, officially known as the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, are the best helicopter pilots and crews in the world. These are the crews who fly America’s top special operations units to combat. They can reach any target, plus or minus 30 seconds, as they take pride in saying. The Battle of Mogadishu, the Osama bin Laden mission, and the Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi raid are just some of their exploits that have made it through to the public. When you hear about special operations troops doing something incredible on the ground, it's almost always because 160th SOAR pilots like Gregory "Gravy" Coker flew them in, provided air support, and whisked them back out - all under cover of darkness.

Alexander Hollings writes: "The 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, commonly called the Night Stalkers, are widely considered to be among the best military aviators on the planet. Coker's new book, Death Waits in the Dark: Six Guns Don't Miss promises to give us a glimpse into this elite and secretive world, and came with some help from Sandboxx's own resident Delta Force legend, George E. Hand, IV."

Great story

CW4(Ret) Coker did an excellent job narrating the story of his service. He kept it lively and entertaining. He made the book all that more interesting with his strory telling. I find many of these books about the military interesting and can relate to them with my 33 years of active service. Definitely a good listen. CW3 (Ret) Pierce

NSDQ

Thank you for writing this book. It is an awesome account for a lot of people who are unable to share their experiences. I can’t list the reasons to give this book a listen. Highly recommend. NSDQ.

Decent story, decently told

Now I want to read this book. I admire Gravy for his achievements, but even great men need to know their limitations. This is why professional readers are hired for audio books.

Narration terribly underwhelming for such a polished group

I very much respect the legendary unit, and love the stories but they were narrated very poorly. Sad that the point man made it seem like a 4th grade story. It dragged the book down.

Needs an actual narrator

Needs to be re-recorded with a professional narrator in an actual professional studio unfortunately.

Story Time with a Night Stalker

CW4(R) Coker isn't a professional narrator, he's a warrior. Listening to him read his book is like listening to your buddy home on leave explain to you what the war was like from his perspective, and that is exactly what I had hoped it would be like. Southern drawl, Texas sayings, all that was missing was a beer and a bonfire. Damn fine book. God bless you faceless heros of the 160th. Much respect.

Six guns don’t miss, that’s a fact!

Well done Gravy!! I laughed, I cried, I reflected, but most of all I felt the brotherhood. Your candid story of service, sacrifice, faith, and perseverance is one of the best I’ve read. It reminded me as it should all of us that we aren’t alone in our struggles. Thank you! NSDQ! SGDM!

Not for me, but you may enjoy.

If you've never been in the military or been around these warriors you will likely enjoy more than I did. The part about vet suicide was very important and hits home. These are true warriors and they have been through hell. I feel the embellishments in this book took away from the story and the history. #NSDQ
