Very good content, some annoying narration.

The book itself is interesting, if a bit repetitive (I don't mind being reminded about previous concepts, but I don't know how many times Isaacson explains integrated design).

The narration is alright, and Dylan Baker's voice is inoffensive, but his cadence is very noticeable and distracting.

A Diamond in the Rough

If you could sum up Steve Jobs in three words, what would they be?

Grating, Genius & Determined

Any additional comments?

At first I almost stopped a third of the way in but am glad I persisted as the genius comes out more as you see why he did what he did, transforing not only the computing industry but also the music industry, not to mention the Pixar excellence. Its also an eye opener that high CEO's can be jerks and genius's all in one. He changed my world without me even knowing it, thank you, Steve Jobs.

Entertaining, challenging, moving,

Entertaining - Steve Jobs had an eventful life, he experimented, challenged convention, succeeded, failed, annoyed...and was anything but boring.

Challenging - this book challenged my views of good and evil, of the end justifying or not justifying the means .. of the liberties that are and should be granted to genius.

Moving - under everything is a a man, a child rejected by a mother and put up for adoption, and insecure adult, a manipulator and a person struggling with his own mortality.

This book describes one individuals journey through life. A unique journey but a universal one too as we have all suffered success and failure, rejection, been manipulated and manipulated others.. the human experience! The book teaches you about Steve Jobs but also about yourself, if you monitor your gut responses' to his behaviour.

I am still not sure what I think of Steve Jobs but I understand what a complex and extreme example he is of a human being. This book gives a window into how he thought and the importance he placed on his legacy - his products and his company.

Well done Walter Isaacson. Excellent narration by Dylan Baker.

The Real Steve

Confirms my view that Steve should have been the one alive with his pure intentions.

Inspiring

I love the biographies from this author. How down to earth everything is. About jobs, I can sense his inspiration in this book... and also his demons.
