Bill Parcells may be the most iconic football coach of our time. During his decades-long tenure as an NFL coach, he turned failing franchises into contenders. He led the ailing New York Giants to two Super Bowl victories, turned the New England Patriots into an NFL powerhouse, reinvigorated the New York Jets, brought the Dallas Cowboys back to life, and was most recently enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Taking readers behind the scenes with one of the most influential and fascinating coaches the NFL has ever known, Parcells will take a look back at this coach’s long, storied and influential career, offer a nuanced portrayal of the complex man behind the coach, and examine the inner workings of the NFL.

If you are a Giants fan, this is a book you have to read (or listen to). I was surprised he didn't talk more about football being his narcotic. Good story by a great football mind.
His leaving the Giants. Wish he focused more on the disaster of the Ray Handley era. Never realized he wanted to return.
He was good- i got a kick out of him imitating Parcels. I wish I heard some of his actual voice (Parcels that is)
Parcells DNA is made up of the greatest football coaches of all time and Minds in the game. from Vince Lombardi , Al Davis, Mike holla back, and other greats all have a piece in Bill Parcells. Parcells was the modern-day Socrates in the NFL , his student Bill Belichick and Tom Coughlin, and Sean Payton are the Plato's and Aristotle's of today's football
It was great hearing the details of many stories I had heard about over the years. The entire New England Patriots saga was of particular interest to me, and there were many details not out in the media. There is no doubt that this is told through Parcells' "recollection" and slant on his own life, but is still thoroughly entertaining.
I enjoyed this book so much that I had trouble putting it down. The narrator does A excellent job telling the story of Bill Parcells life. I especially enjoyed all the behind-the-scenes information. Any fan of Bill Parcells or just football in general will really enjoy this book and performance.
educativo en historia de vida y del juego, de liderazgo y negociación. muy recom2ndable
I listed to one audio book a week on average. I like biographies, politics, sports, history, and anything related to comic books.
Great story about the life of Bill parcells. His relationship with Bill belichick is clarified, his coaching tree is discussed in great detail.
The overall story about Bill Parcells' life was very interesting. From his decision to give up what certainly would have been a lucrative career with Pizza Hut in its early days of existence to the Giants' first Super Bowl win this book had my attention the whole way.
It was an auto-biography so the main character.
Jason Culp did very well reading this book. The only complaint I have is minor and that is that he mispronounced several names of well known football persons like Ed Debartolo among a few others. Overall great performance though.
There actually were some emotional moments for me. Parcells' honest, open recollections of his interaction with men like Lawrence Taylor and Curtis Martin showed a side of him I never would have guessed existed.
"A true NFL Legend"
This title would rank among the top 10 audio books I have listened to so far
I would compare this with Madden (unabridged) by Bryan Burwell, both fantastic and influential coaches from the NFL
Jason Culp's characterisation of the brusque New Jersey native is as close to hearing Parcells read the words off the page as you'll get.
There are quite a few emotional moments throughout the book, Parcells is a down to earth hard nosed coach with a heart.
Absolutely recommend this title to anyone who followed football from the 70's onwards, besides Parcells notable achievements his time in the NFL has been spent grooming and shaping some of the most iconic players and coaches in the league.
