Publisher's Summary

Critics and readers loved Lisa Scottoline’s first collection of true-life stories, which only encouraged her—now she’s back with these all-new, exciting adventures. She’s farther down the road now, and the scenery has changed—ex-husbands Thing One and Thing Two are in her rear-view mirror, daughter Francesca has moved into an apartment, and Lisa’s finding the silver lining in her empty nest, which has lots more room for her shoes. And some things have stayed the same—Mother Mary is still the feistiest octogenarian on the planet, who won’t part with her recipe for tomato sauce or her 30-year old bra.

In this book Lisa and Francesca spill all their family secrets—which sound a lot like yours, if you understand that three generations of women is the formula for spontaneous combustion. Inspired by her weekly column entitled, “Chick Wit” for The Philadelphia Inquirer, this is a book you’ll have to put down—just to stop laughing.

    "So touching, funny, wonderful"

I've loved Lisa Scottoline's fiction for years and hearing this compilation and expanded take on her and her daughter Francesca's Chick Wit columns was a joy. The fact that these two talented women can not only write extremely well, but can also read what they've written in such an engaging and likable way is just amazing. I can't recommend this book strongly enough!

    "Gives you a laugh"
Would you try another book from Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Scottoline Serritella and/or Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Scottoline Serritella ?

A funny book that will make you laugh - - as a single parent I recall so many of the same moments of trying to keep everything together and wondering how I would survive - yet alone how two kids would survive thrive and grow up to be responsible adults. It reminds us that humor really is the best medicine.

    "LOVED THIS BOOK!"
Where does My Nest Isn't Empty, It Just Has More Closet Space rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Everyone needs some humor in their life and this book delivers. It's quirky and heart-warming. I bought hard copies of this book and of another one about her next husband being a dog for all my closest friends.

Who was your favorite character and why?

This is a collection of articles and everyone was interesting.

What does Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Scottoline Serritella bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

They are excellent narrators and because this is about their life experiences, it sounds honest and true.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, and you can because it's quite short.

Yes, I would recommend this book to a friend. It's funny and heartfelt.

What other book might you compare My Nest Isn't Empty, It Just Has More Closet Space to and why?

I would compare this book to Scottoline's Why My Third Husband Will be a Dog.

Which character ??? as performed by Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Scottoline Serritella ??? was your favorite?

I enjoyed Lisa. I am middle-aged like her, so I identified with her and her life.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    More dogs! More fun!

    Any additional comments?

Aging parents, empty nests, psycho cats, sweet dogs, spanx---this book has it all!
