I read several books a month, but have never been able to bring myself to read or listen to Lone Survivor until now, due to certain personal connections to individuals involved with the mission. Captivating account of true hero’s.
This story was so much better than the movie. As they usually are. The fight and subsequent narrative of not just his journey, but the journey of those who supported him, is so impressive and relatable. Although we all may not be SEAL or spec ops material, we all fight our own demons and battles that lead to individual versions of tragedy and insurmountable loss. The story line and how this journey was navigated by these brave souls is nothing short of miraculous. I wish I could some day uphold myself to the values that Marcus and his saviors live by on a regular basis. I am truly grateful to all those who serve and paid the ultimate price, physically and mentally. Amazing book and may all those hero’s Rest In Peace.
