I read this book due to being the daughter of a Marine, sister to 2 Army brothers (one of whom was SF), and wife to an Air Force Veteran. pride for my country & the men & women who serve for it run deep in my veins. if you aren't a lifetime military bratt like myself & lack that pride... The narrator sounds like a GI Joe action figure who has just thrown back a sixer of Budweiser—and not in a good way. It sounds like an actor acting, disingenuous, forced, unnatural, you know what I mean? However, I enjoyed the story once I got over it. I think you can too.
