Michael McIntyre has become Britain’s biggest comedy star. His debut stand-up DVD, Live & Laughing, was the fastest selling of all time, only to be eclipsed by his second, Hello Wembley, which sold over 1.4 million copies and was the 2009 Christmas number one. He hosts his own BAFTA nominated BBC1 series, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, and won the British Comedy Award for Best Live Stand-up in 2009 following his record breaking 54-date Arena tour.
But how did he get there? Michael reveals all and gives a hilarious performance in this audio edition of his remarkably honest autobiography. His showbiz roots, his appalling attempts to attract the opposite sex, his fish-out-of-water move from public to state school, and his astonishing journey from selling just one ticket at the Edinburgh Festival to selling half a million tickets on his last tour - all are revealed. Michael’s story is riveting, poignant, romantic, and above all, very, very funny.

"Heartwarming and so so funny"
This book is in my top five. It's the only funny one and the only biography but I could listen to it over and over again - and have.
Michael is the star of his own show and I pity those who just bought the book and read it themselves.
Michael's grandmother is wickedly portrayed and totally convincing, darrrrling. :D
"an enjoyable listen; with chuckles"
Never read the book
The dating scenes
An enjoyable listen, made so much better having been read by the author
"Funny and entertaining"
I've always liked to watch Michael on TV, and never having been one for biographies thought this would be good to cut my teeth on. Glad I did. Never realised what Michael had gone through in former years before making it big. Very Funny. LOVELY to hear the book read by the auther himself, I think this made it more appealing than reading it as a book myself
I can recommend this as a good lighthearted read.
I loved this so much, I think the reason is because Michael himself reads it and puts his heart and soul into the story telling.
I loved the way he told his story with such gusto, he made me cry and laugh, I ,listened to this mainly In the car and hated getting to my destination.
His father dying moved me too tears.
"Never a dull moment"
Yes, due to the nature of who the story is about. The message/story is better delivered by himself. Just like watching him on TV.
The way that it was narrated- very funny.
Story of his Childhood.
Brilliant Audiobook. Brilliantly delivered. Would highly recommend a listen!
"Entertaining from the first word to the last!"
Quiet easily the best, most entertaining audible book I've listened to. Michael McIntyre brings his story to life in such a way that the only disappointment is when the story ends.
Having Michael reading to you enables him to deliver the punch lines with perfect timing.
If you like him and you enjoy his shows then this book is a must.
Listening to this book made training for a marathon easy. It didn't help me run but I was able to switch off and just listen. Of course I looked a little strange running along laughing and smiling!
"Laugh out loud funny...."
.... of course it is.
Michael is funny anyway, and i think him reading the book makes it. If id read it I probably wouldnt have enjoyed it as much.
As autobiography's go its a story about someones life, but Michael makes his sound far more hilarious than everyone else.
Interesting and hilarious.
Very much recommended.
By far the best autobiography that I've listened to/ read.
Many parts of this book had me crying with laughter
I would recommend this to anyone that has ever seen Michael McIntyre perform and enjoyed his material, the book gives a great - and humorous - insight on his rise to fame and fortune. I highly recommend it.
A great read/listen. I have such respect for the struggle he had in life. A real insight. Incredibly hard working guy.
The fact he narrates his own book is a real gem.
Himself of course!
A real must read.
"Funny and Entertaining"
I am new to audible and this book was great to listen to. Both myself and my son loved it and have started listening again. Thank you Michael a great listen.
We loved 'Gran'
I would have loved to listen all the way through in sitting but unfortunately I listened over a couple of nights.
