I'm stunned
I couldn't stop listening.. her story is eye opening, shocking, and inspirational. I feel that this should be essential reading/listening for everyone. Having it read by Ayaan herself made the entire audio feel more like a deeply insightful and engaging conversation with a well known friend. I'll be recommending this to everyone.

Absorbing story
A very serious first hand look at one woman's Islamic upbringing. The author/narrator was very good, I like her accent and find her pleasant to listen to. Her story is incredible because her courage is boundless. What she is able to achieve will stagger you. I think this woman needs to be listened to.

I So Admire Aiyaan Hirsi Ali
I read this book several years back and couldn't put it down! Hearing it narrated by Hirsi Ali was such a thrill! Everyone should read this book today so they would understand what might be coming our way if we don't stop it!!! I wish those in power would listen to her!

Amazingly insightful book!!
This books is fearless in the face of an overly politicized culture which claims to values freedom of speech, but cowers in the face denouncing horrible Islamic practices that destroy freedom for fear of being labeled islamaphobic. This book offers a window into the Islamic world, thought, and practice, and exposes the behaviors, thinking, and inner wrestlings of those entrapped in that worldview

the epitome of courage
Leadership, like respect, is earned, and I can think of little else that qualifies one to lead like the courage to face injustice head on. Ayaan Hirsi Ali has earned a position of leadership and respect, and has a story that should be heard.

Could Not Put This Down

This is not your typical dry non-fiction book - it's a great story - but the content is extremely relevant and important.
We have much to learn from her story and I am grateful for her bravery in sharing it.
I listened to the whole book in one day because I could not put it down. It was very moving and I did tear up a few times, however, I did not feel sad at the end of this book - I mean, yes, sad about so much of what is happening in the world - but the book is ultimately empowering and ends with a message of hope.
