“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.”-Elizabeth Barrett Browning, 1850
“How do I hate thee? How much time do you have?”-Joan Rivers, today, about two-ish
Joan Rivers is a groundbreaking, award-winning, internationally renowned entertainment goddess. She’s also opinionated - especially when it comes to people she hates. Like people who think giving birth is a unique achievement. Or well-adjusted - a.k.a. boring - ex-child stars who don’t even have a decent addiction.
With all of her diverse experiences, it stands to reason that Joan has seen, done, said, and heard a lot of hateful things. Thank god, she took notes.
Here - uncensored and totally uninhibited - she give the best of her worst to First Ladies, closet cases, hypocrites, Hollywood, feminists, and overrated historical figures. And even when letting herself have it, Joan doesn’t hold back in this honest, unabashedly hilarious love letter to the hater in all of us.

It makes me laugh
her take down of rich women with everything "whining" about their "sadness"
In a peaceful, verdant valley on the Equator, the sun always sets at 6, and a good audiobook is always the perfect evening companion
If you dislike Joan Rivers, you'll hate this book. Otherwise, it feels like a romp through a card catalog of her life's work, in which she skewers just about every sacred cow you can imagine, up to and including the abuses of modern technology. It seems rare to hear Joan Rivers without a live audience, but this is an energetic read through a dense thicket of barbed observations that leave no one unscathed. Potty mouth? You bet. On target? Flawlessly.

Not funny, just old and tired. I love her shows shes witty and smart and in the now. This book might as well be telling mother in law jokes. Sad and embarrassing. I didn't even finish the book. I was really looking forward to it as well. Wasted my money don't waste yours.
I review books and audiobooks, mostly mystery, police procedurals, That's about it!
Don't know, not having read it
Why Joan of course
There are no "scenes", but I loved each and every chapter
Laugh, Joan made me laugh out loud, several times, felt a bit silly, but there was no one to see me
I just loved this audio book, Joan Rivers is one of the very few comedians I enjoy. I even watch a show about fashion only because she is the star.
I can't wait for the next book

I was ready to write a melting love letter to this book and its author-until I find how much had been left out!
Can we talk here?
Where was the part with the funny nicknames for all our 50 states? Where were some of the other hilarious jokes?
What was there was excellent. I loved it to death. I've loved Joan Rivers since the early '80s when she subbef for Johnny Carson, and appeared on Hollywood Squares. What a hoot.
solid 4 out of 5, should have been 5 but for the missing material.
Way beyond hysterical
The entire thing was fantastic - and I've listened to it twice. The most memorable thing would be that Joan narrates her own and her intonations, sighs, emotion in her voice as she's reading make it all that more special.
Page one to page end.
Not possible to make a film - it's a diary, for one, and NOBODY would be good enough to play Joan.
I've purchased many of her physical books but don't really have much reading time. These are awesome, as I can listen to them in the car, laughing my way all the way to my destination, and be in a great mood when I get there because Joan keeps me cracking up always - whether it's the 1st time through or 10th. Never gets old. And I miss her horribly. These books are the next best thing to her being alive.
I had to turn this off after about an hour and a half. I can only stand so much negativity and vitriol. I know I should have known buy the title, but I was just so sad when she died that I was hoping I would like it. Ah, well. I still love you, Joan!
Although I enjoy watching Joan Rivers in her comedy acts I did not like this audio. It came across a boring, hence the tile, and totally not funny. I only got about halfway through before I decided to quit listening.
"Very funny in true joan style"
I laughed out loud in parts .very funny . Must remember not to take parts seriously though . She sees the funny side of most things
"Lots to agree with!!"
Loved this audiobook, finished it in 2 days I also hate asking old people how they are!!
RIP Miss Rivers.
"A true laugh a minute."
Just wanted to say this book made me laugh out loud in explosive bursts (sometimes in public which was embarrassing) and I agree with Joan on about 85% of the things she hates. Maybe it's an age thing but she certainly gives it to us straight. Such brutal honesty is not only brave but hilariously funny. Yes she's cruel sometimes but she's also usually right!
"Love Joan, Hate this one"
When you turn a book into audio, repetition gets very boring. I had hoped that with Joan reading her own book, it would be like one of her monologues. However this book has the phrase "I hate..." Repeated constantly, making it incredibly annoying. I could not finish this audio book and will request a return. Fail Joan.
Very funny, She has the ability to laugh at herself and sometimes she can use a very offensive language but she is still very funny
