Publisher's summary

Best known to the world as the actor who created the legendary Mr. Spock in the cult television series that launched the Star Trek phenomenon, Leonard Nimoy has written the definitive Star Trek memoir. In this long-awaited autobiography, Nimoy opens up to his fans in ways the Vulcan never could.

Having played the pivotal role of Mr. Spock in the original series, in six motion pictures, and in a special two-part episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, as well as having directed two of the movies, Nimoy is well suited to tell the true story behind what was seen by the public. He provides an intelligent and insightful book about the creative process and the actor's craft - and gives his own unique insider's view of the creation of both the character, Mr. Spock, and the Star Trek phenomenon.

For Trekkies Only

If you have no interest in Star Trek or have not seen the old TV series or movies, this book is not for you. On the other hand, if you are a trekkie like me, get this book and enjoy.

He definite IS Spock!

I loved that Nimoy narrated his own book. Fantastic.

For this old Trek fan getting to hear more about Leonard and Spock and the behind the scenes gems was more than special!

Great Star Trek memoir

The abridged aspect really shows through during the end when there's an almost nonsensical whirlwind of briefly touching on his non-Star Trek career, but come on, it's Nimoy telling his own story in his own voice -- so better abridged than not at all.

I was surprised at how unpredictable Nimoy's tastes are. There are some highs and lows in Star Trek's quality where his tastes are dead on. Then later he gushes about the 'quality' of some baffling other choices.

All in all, this was a delightful time spent with a delightful man who I could have listened to for twice as long.

Leonard’s lifetime achievement……magnificently simple!!!….

Leonard manifested in Spock..what we all grapple within our own mind..…. The 2 sides of emotion and logic that lies within each of us…. And he did it with the utmost finesse and ease… his voice is mesmerizing and hauntingly human and Vulcan all at the same time….. and all embodied in one complicated yet simple being… he’s just “Leonard Spock”….

Great book

We now have all the history right from the person who it is about. Wish Leonard was still with us but he is right, Spock will outlive him. Leonard really made Spock live and be great, both will be missed deeply.
