Publisher's summary

Laci Rocha Peterson, eight months pregnant, was last seen by her sister, Amy, in the late afternoon of December 23, 2002. She spoke to her mother, Sharon Rocha, at 8:30 p.m. that night. This would be the last time anyone from her immediate family ever spoke to her.

A search began which lasted an agonizing four months. Sadly, Laci Peterson and her son Conner were found dead on the shores of San Francisco Bay on April 18, 2003.

Her husband, Scott, was eventually arrested and charged with the murder of Laci and Connor. After a sensational, media-saturated trial, Peterson was found guilty of capital murder and was sentenced to death on March 16, 2005.

This book deals with the story in three separate sections: first, Sharon describes the ordinary, loving life her daughter led, including fond memories of her childhood and adolescence. Second, it covers her marriage, disappearance, the community's moving search for her, and her and Connor's eventual recovery from San Francisco Bay. Third, it tells the story of the trial in detail not before revealed. Sharon will also talk about victim's rights, a subject on which she now campaigns regularly.

Understanding the Depth of the Hurt

I remember hearing about this when it happened and my heart hurt for this family with their loss. Unimaginable that it’s been over 20 years. This book brought it all home again and walking through the memories from Lacy’s mother was one of the most difficult but inspiring journeys all in one. So sad.

Courage to seek justice for her daughter.

I remembered the Laci Peterson case, but didn't know a lot about it. After listening to For Laci I sought out more books about this tragedy. I cried listening to Sharon Rocha's heartbreak. I am the mother of a beautiful daughter (only child) and know the powerful love between a mother and daughter. Listening to Laci's excitement about becoming a mother makes it all the more horrible. I was appalled by Scott, Jackie and Lee Peterson's cruelty to Laci's family. This book is about the love of a mother & daughter and the fight for justice.

Heartrending account by Laci's Mom

An emotional read. Very well done. Highly recommend for anyone who stayed close to the Laci Peterson case and remembers watching the news for reports of the search efforts. These words are her mother's... Keep tissue handy.

For Lacy and Connor 😇

I have read this book many year's ago, now I'm listening or just finished listening to it on Audible. Sharon Rocha and Ron, Dennis, Amy Brent. I Will never forget, never stop praying for all of you and so many others. Laci and Connor will forever live in my heart and soul for the rest of my life, as I'm sure they will in people all over the planet. Good and peace surround you as much as it forever can. Love you all always and forever ! Love Laurie Lewellen .....

An Excellent Book!!!

I loved every bit of the book. Even though it had some heart-wrenching moments that made me feel bad for their family especially for Sharon Rocha. This book is a must-read. I read it for a whole day straight and I finished reading the whole book within two days.

Very touching read

I’m from Modesto and I’ve always felt so mad for the family and sad for what they’ve endured. Sharon weaves a beautiful web of Laci’s life and how she learned to be strong in an impossible circumstance. You can hear in every word how much she loves her daughter. I hope someday they can find peace.

How sad, but im glad that she wrote this book.

Would you consider the audio edition of For Laci to be better than the print version?

I do consider the audio version better. But I love it hearing the books because i can take this book anywhere.

What was one of the most memorable moments of For Laci?

Have you listened to any of Staci Snell’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not heard her before, but i will be seeing what other books she reads :)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
