Publisher's Summary

Che Guevara was a dashing rebel whose epic dream was to end poverty and injustice in Latin America and the developing world through armed revolution.

Jon Lee Anderson traces Che's extraordinary life from his comfortable Argentine upbringing to the battlefields of the Cuban revolution, from the halls of power in Castro's government to his failed campaign in the Congo and his assassination in the Bolivian jungle.

Meticulously researched and full of exclusive information, this work illuminates as never before the mythic figure who embodied the high-water mark of revolutionary communism as a force in history.

    "Che Guevara"

Fascinating story and well read. I knew nothing of Che's life prior to this book. Listed to it after a trip to Ecuador. If you're into socialism you'll like this, if you're into South American political history, Che covers enough ground throughout his life that you'll like this, or if you're just an adventurer in life like myself you'll find something to connect with irregardless of you political views. This is definitely worth reading!

Good listen, easy to follow, and a stellar narrator. Listening was not nearly as difficult a task than reading this small tree trunk.

"Great life story but brace yourself - 36 h long!"
What was one of the most memorable moments of Che Guevara?

Certainly important shaping moments happened during young Chancho's (Che's nickname) trip with his friend on motorcycle through countries of South America, before he became Revolutionary guerilla.

What does Armando Durán bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I liked how Armando used original accent for names, cities, etc and it really made story more authentic.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book can change the way how you look on effects of US capitalism on South American countries.

    "Excellent book"

This book gives fantastic insight into the life of a man whom most of us are aware of, but often know little about. The research and explanation of Che's story is in-depth and does not skip many details, and the author does a wonderful job of allowing the reader to determine for themselves what their ultimate opinion of Che Guevara is. It also provides a very insightful look at the history of the Cuban Revolution, particularly in its early stages.

This book is indeed very long and I do agree that there are some areas relating to military strategy that could be left out. However, these are essential pieces of the puzzle in understanding Che's life and only serve to further inform the reader.

    "Great Book!"

I love this book. Second time reading it. First time with audible. This book is accurate and minus the usual USA propaganda when it comes to Che.

i thoroughly enjoyed this book. incredibly informative, great context, analysis of the man and his behavior. I wanted to know why so many people idolize the man Che and why so many people hate him. this book absolutely helped me to form an educated opinion on Che.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The story was written rather blandly, combined with the reader, it felt like it lacked emotion and failed to draw me in after 2 hours. I even skipped to the middle but that was no better.

"Che Is Legendary. This Unbridged Isn't ."
What did you love best about Che Guevara?

    Che is legendary.

What other book might you compare Che Guevara to and why?

Che is very unique. Can't compare him to anyone or any other books.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Armando Durán?

Yeah why not but as long as he can read exactly what was on the book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Very insightful. You understand his personality. Why he was the way he was. He was no dumbie .

    Any additional comments?

Yeah next time try following exactly what the real paperback book reads. Unabridged mean unedited. False advertising here.
