"Che Is Legendary. This Unbridged Isn't ."
What did you love best about Che Guevara?

    Che is legendary.

What other book might you compare Che Guevara to and why?

Che is very unique. Can't compare him to anyone or any other books.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Armando Durán?

Yeah why not but as long as he can read exactly what was on the book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Very insightful. You understand his personality. Why he was the way he was. He was no dumbie .

    Any additional comments?

Yeah next time try following exactly what the real paperback book reads. Unabridged mean unedited. False advertising here.

"Touching insight in a complex personality."

Being a right winged European, I have never been much interested in Cuba, Castro or Che Guevara, but I couldn't put down this work. It's full of details, and beautifully written so it never gets boring. The book gives a great insight in life and thoughts of Che Guevara and the contrast with other people, most notably with Fidel Castro. It's definitely not a hero's story. It's unbelievable how many of today's conflicts in Africa and especially South and Middle America were started with the help of Che Guevara. This is a fantastic work about a guy that lived and in the end died for his principles. A book I should have read 15 years earlier.

    "Lets you decide"

Having lived through this period of history and finding most of the books written about the time to be either too far right, or too far left, this biography presented a very complete view of Che from beginning to end, without casting him as either hero or villain.

At the same time, it gives brief glimpses into the historical and personal people in his life, without losing focus on the main character.

Having stopped listening to “Historical” or “Biographical” materials, finding them too agenda driven, I am very glad I took the time to listen and enjoy this book. I hope this trend continues.

    "Still Listening"

This is a very long book; at 37 hours, it is double the size of what is already a long listen As anything else, it was worth reading to understand more about a person I only heard about, Che. This is a very unlikely read for me, but I enjoy history and am willing to try to read about anyone I think might be interesting or provide insight,it does not hurt to know a little, even if the book is not finished. The reader learns about Che's parents;s lives, Che's upbringing and attitudes; it follows Motorcycle Diaries very closely during that particular time. I am at the point in my reading that is a little before revolution, so I plan to return to it. There are SO many Latin names that are referenced; so many that I think what I read about how the author was able to get such a great accounting of Che's life was talking to all of these people and promising to use their name in the book. It is humorous. For historical reading, this is worthwhile, which is how I look at it. I have about 15 hours to go!

Great book, keeps you engage and makes you wonder how South American will be today if Che would have been able to continue his ties with China.

    "F A N T A S T I C ! ! !"

This is honestly one of the best Audible books I have ever heard (I've heard over 150)... A little slow at the beginning, but then it gets very exciting when you get into the revolutionary nitty gritty.

    Should be an Audible Essential.

    "Minutia"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Anyone that wants the intimate, day to day, hour by hour, details of a famous person's life, this is the book for you. While it is interesting... I kept asking myself while listening to this book, "So what?" I realize an incredible amount of research, years of research, went into this book... and it shows with all the minutia.

Has Che Guevara turned you off from other books in this genre?

    Certainly by this author.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The author needed someone to edit this for him so it would be more interesting instead of a listener to sleep.
