Publisher's Summary

Born Again is the autobiography of one of the most influential men of our time. It is not only a remarkable story of one man's redemption in Christ, but a fascinating look inside the events of one of America's most riveting sagas.

In the 1970s, against the backdrop of the explosive Watergate scandal, Charles Colson revealed the story of his own search for meaning during the tumultuous investigations that led to the collapse of the Nixon administration. A convicted former special counsel to the president, Colson paradoxically found new life - not with success and power, but while in national disgrace and serving a prison sentence.

    "Great Read"

This book is a great listen even if you're too young to remember much or anything about Watergate. Colson tells his story in a way to make you want to continue on to each next chapter. He is a man of true integrity who is not afraid to tell the truth about himself and how telling the truth set him free, even in prison. I want to be a better person after listening to "Born Again." Jon Gauger is my favorite narrator to date in my Audible journey. He does a great Nixon. Highly recommend. Wish the sequel, "Life Sentence" was available on Audible.

History, and yet, still so relative today! Took a little bit to get into it, but worth every minute of my time!

Starts off slow and Mondain and sometimes it had like oh I don't know about this and then by the end you're completely enthralled. Great life lessons.

    "Great listen."

Enjoyed hearing the history of Watergate as retold by Colson. The performance by Jon Gauger was one of the best I've listened to on Audible. Colson's story of redemption and faith is encouraging and a reminder that our stories are simply a part of God's greater story that he is writing.

    "Worth it."

This is the story of a journey from apparent power to real power. Having lived through the Nixon crisis I yet did not understand it. This really helps clear up gaps as well as experiencing a man's conversion.

a great story with an awesome narrator. You could hear each person talk as he was narrating. and Chuck Colson's account of how God Sovereignly worked through adversity to establish a Ministry to prisoners for the glory of God was inspiring.

Would you consider the audio edition of Born Again to be better than the print version?

Yes, I like all audio versions better. In today's busy life Audio Books allow me to continue to read without much spare time.

    Story
"Narrator made me believe he was the author"
Where does Born Again rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I love listening to audio books. The story is important, but the narrator is equally important to make the listening enjoyable. This narrator was excellent and made me believe he was the author as I was listening. Just like listening to a personal story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Born Again?

I was deeply moved by Colson's account of his conversion - not the moment it started, but the continuation of it and how his faith grew as he was willing to do things God's way and not his own way. So often, God's way does not seem to make any sense according to the world's wisdom, however Colson demonstrates again and again the contradiction in this thinking.

    Any additional comments?

This book is a faith-growing experience. One's eyes are opened to the realities of political life, but also to the possibilities of doing things "against the grain" and having eternal influence over people in your sphere.
