Carol Kent and her husband, Gene, are now living what some would call a heartbreaking life--their son, Jason, a young man who initially had so much promise, is now living out a life sentence for murder in a maximum security prison. All their appeals have been exhausted at both the state and federal levels--humanly speaking, they have run out of options. But despite their hopeless situation, Carol and her husband live a life full of grace.

Kent reveals how life's problems become fruitful affliction where we discover the very best divine surprises, including peace, compassion, freedom, and adventure. Through the Kent's remarkable ongoing journey, Jason's riveting letters from behind bars, and true "grace place" stories from the lives of others, Between a Rock and a Grace Place reveals that when seemingly insurmountable challenges crash into our lives, we can find "divine surprises" as we discover God at work in ways we never imagined.

With vulnerable openness, irrepressible hope, restored joy, and a sense of humor, Carol Kent helps readers to find God's "grace places" in the middle of their worst moments.

I love this author! Personal stories within the main story. I heard Carol Kent speak 10+ years ago, and read her book "When I Lay My Isaac Down" (which I could hardly put down). This book did not disappoint!

Bittersweet story most can relate to in some way!

This book has changed my perspective on God, faith, hope, and life in general. Thank you, Carol. I am slowly losing my eyesight as a result of Retinitis Pigmentosa. Your book has helped me see everything differently.

Perspective Altering

El libro es precioso. Su enseñanza principal consiste en tener fé y en entrenarse para ver el vaso medio lleno y no medio vacío.

inspirador

This book should be described more aptly as a sermon by a preacher's daughter---I don't doubt the depth of her pain but also wished I could get my money back as soon as I started listening--author even says the book is written for people that are at the crossroads in their lives--between life and despair. Like the earlier reviewer wrote--this is a pep rally for God.

Very disappointing, description of book misleading
