It was an amazing story of how one person can achieve a goal and succeed against all odds. It was eye opening to hear how he was able to cope with his deployments and personal life. It was nice to hear his honesty and see that he has been successful during and after his military service. Thank you for your service.

Exceptional read.

The personal accounts of this book are incredible. Chris did an excellent job of painting the picture as seen through his eyes. The stories, his accounts, and his experiences are unlike anything we as civilians could ever imagine. This was war, and he lived through it to tell us. The audio version also captured and encompassed Chris's feelings about everything that he shared which I thoroughly appreciated. This is the first war account that I have ever read-and it was wonderful to hear the family aspect of life as well. Taya's accounts were a perfect touch to the book. Overall, it is an incredible story of a man dedicated to protecting his country and the trials and tribulations of his life both on the inside and outside of war. It's also a story of love, priorities and family which captures everything completely about Chris. I was blown away by this story.

I'm proud to be an American

Chris Kyle wasn't a perfect man by any stretch. His story is riveting. I'm grateful I got learn more about him. He opened my eyes to war and the type of hero we need to be free.

just a great book overall.

Disregarding my huge draw to attention the United States Military has over me, this book was phenomenal and I highly reccomend it to anyone.

Not completely unabridged but still great

It's missing the portion of the book with Jesse Ventura in it. Still a compelling story about a great American patriot. Rest with Jesus, Chris... My prayers go out for you children and wife.

As good as the film

Listened to this after seeing the movie. Both were terrific. I feel I know the story much better after hearing the book and the content here departs from the film quite a bit. Hollywood took some license with the story but maybe that's to be expected. Such a tragedy to not have this man with us anymore.
