As Told By Agatha Christie

As I listened to this Audible, it felt like I traveled back in time and received a recording of Mrs Christie's voice. She talked about her works: her books, how she wrote them, her stint at writing plays. It felt as though she was sharing a very personal part of herself to the listener, her musings, thoughts on how her works were adapted, accepted and treated. I gave 4 stars to the performance instead of 5 because I could not hear some of her words due to the quality of the recording (like listening to an old phonograph). Good thing I could rewind and listen to the garbled parts again. Overall I enjoyed it while accomplishing my tasks.

So neat

I really love listening to Christie voice. I also never knew that And Then There Were None was originally written with a different title!

The Autobiography was passable

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Well you have to consider the subject material and realize it is not a story

If you’ve listened to books by Agatha Christie before, how does this one compare?

Close to the bottom. Sorry Agatha

What three words best describe Agatha Christie’s voice?

Hard to understand because of the age of the recording

Could you see Agatha Christie: An Autobiography being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

It is rather bland, so Agatha would be the only star

Any additional comments?

Interesting but not inspiring

Same Agatha in her own voice

A fascinating historical document, and a wonderful insight into the mind of one of the truly great authors of the 20th Century.

Awful audio

She’s hard to understand, mostly because of the scratchy and popping noise. I managed to get through it. But it’s not one I’ll revisit.

Fascinating - in spite of poor audio quality

This is Agatha Christie herself talking a bit about her life and books. I don't know when this recording was made, but it must be quite old, as the sound quality is quite bad. Nevertheless, it gives a fascinating and witty insight into her thoughts about life and writing. Even though the sound quality is poor, I will be listening to this again and again.

Not really about her life

This is a synopsis of the summaries of her books and where hey ideas came from. She never discusses her life itself.

What a marvelous lady

Despite the distracting noise in the background, this was highly entertaining. Agatha has a delightful personality and her stories were very engaging.

Still Fascinating

Less an autobiography, than an old recording of the author reminiscing. Still fascinating, but the antique sound quality is difficult to listen to.
