Smart and concerned individuals are hard to find

Senator Warren gives us a peek into her life and how smart, concerned citizens are still found in this great Nation. it is sad to hear how big banks planned to create a new kind of slave, the American credit borrower. These large economic power houses are alive and well, and continue to work each and every day creating new ways to screw all those in the low and middle class. A big thank you to Sen. Warren for showing us that with will and perseverance anyone can get the job done.

I finally found someone I can believe in!

This woman has a new die-hard fan and supporter in me. I not only learned a lot about Senator Warren, but I learned a lot of the behind the scenes ugly truths in Washington.

I am very thankful she read this book herself. It put a very personal touch to the story. I didn't think I'd like it, but I burned through it!

Senator Warren may not be my Senator, but she is strong enough of a fighter, that I might just have to move to make sure she is! Definitely a voice to get behind and know with certainty she has our backs too!

I highly recommend it to anyone.

Aw Shucks!

This is very much a personal political memoir. Both the candidate and the candidate's positions are presented in warm hues and the opposition to those views is unfair, unreasonable, and unconscionable. That's how these books are supposed to be written and the formula is well respected. That said, Elizabeth Warren is an engaging and articulate spokesman for a very important cause and she makes some very important points. The best of these is, unfortunately buried in the description of her senatorial campaign: how we spend our money reflects our values. What she implies, but does not articulate, is that tax breaks are equivalent to welfare payments ... they are a government expenditure that reflects the values of those who govern us. Perhaps we should be asking more of them.

Fantastic

I bought this because I liked Warren for the debate stage for the 2020 presidential democratic primary. I ended up loving the story and Warren does an amazing job with the narration. Plenty of times when her passion and enthusiasm spills out about her desire for fair and just laws that work for all citizens, not just mega millionaires. I’m surprised to see how consistent her views and practices are.

I’m also a little ashamed I didn’t know more about the consumer protection bureau. I knew she had a part in making it but I never knew the depth of her involvement (it’s her brain child). I never knew the vast scope of the bureau and how it protects us. I knew we got screwed over in the financial meltdown, but now I know a lot more about the specific ways that the wall street ties to Washington made it way, way worse.

I’m looking forward to her next book and to voting for her in the primary.

I think of all you have done for others and my soul cries , because if my husband had not been ill in the hospital for 143 days, while I struggled to raise 4 kids, only 3 years' college, if I had not had to go bankrupt, I could have made something of myself. I know I have it in me, but now I am 78 and still struggling to overcome adversity. I had worked for an MRDD home of 8 ladies, and after blowing the whistle for 3 times, I was fired. I still don't know if those girls have air conditioning and heat upstairs yet. I wish I could have helped them. Thank you Elizabeth, for all your dedication & hard work. You are the exception to the rule that all politicians are crooked. Pass it on. L

Nevertheless She Persisted!

I am blown away buy the life, work and passion of Elizabeth Warren! I had no idea that she wasn't a career politician...I figured to be as resilient and persistent on the floor of the Seanate it was a requirement. Elizabeth Warren tells an important story and one that as a woman...As an American, I needed to understand more deeply. Thank you Senator Warren, you are my She-ro!!!! You truly live and work to honor a deep moral code that I pray more of those in government can hone in on. You truly do live by your convictions of Matthew 25:40! God Bless you for being who you are!

Amazing Book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would and have recommended this book. I listened to the entire book in about 4 days and just LOVED it! I knew very little of Elizabeth Warren before listening to this book, but I could completely relate to her story and was drawn in from the very beginning.

What about Elizabeth Warren’s performance did you like?

I loved hearing the book being read by the author. I think that the fact that Warren herself read the book added so much to listening. I would guess that the written book is good, but hearing Warren tell her story is so very powerful!

Loved every minute of this book. Elizabeth Warren's message is beyond clear and inspirational. Great insight of the inner workings of the financial industry from an expert.

Love this woman!

Very inspirational. This woman sheds light into how politics in Washington run in a very lively and sometimes intimate way. She speaks not as a politician but as a citizen with common sense and will to fight.

If you thought you knew the story...

I have a new found respect for Senator Warren. It made me mad at times and gave me hope in the end. She is definitely for the people. She has my vote!!
