WOW! Holy WOW. A MUST Listen Psychological Thriller!

Emily and Victoria, both damaged from past betrayals, both still feeling the pain of past hurts. Now, brought together because of HIM, both see each other as rivals. How far will they go, will either of them survive, and who will be their collateral damage … this time. “Because of Her” is a fascinating, well written psychological thriller that had me twisting and turning, my loyalties constantly switching back and forth, between the two! The “feeling” of THIS story is positively foreboding, No spoilers! There is no way I can go into plot details without giving up the goods, and that is the last thing I want to do. I will say that my reality was suspended as I became totally immersed in this unusual, albeit sometimes disturbing, but completely compelling, and fascinating story! Both the dialogue and scene setting are utter perfection, keeping the story moving forward at a steady pace, while at the same time imparting any necessary background information, to insure the story made sense! This listener was completely captivated! The characters are not only succinctly described, but beautifully defined, their dialogue written to perfectly suit to their individualized personalities! The narration was a joy! The voicing choices perfectly suited, especially to Emily and Victoria’s personalities, and emotions clearly conveyed by vocal intonation, really adding to the “feel” of the story! I really loved everything about “Because of Her”, I loved the way everything settled out, again, no spoilers, and I am really looking forward to more from this author and narrator! Five fantastic stars!

Chilling psychological thriller!

Because of Her by Chrystal Murphy is a book that is thoroughly engrossing from start to finish. It’s told from two points of view - Emily and Victoria, who can’t hide their animosity from the first day they met. Both women are hiding secrets and their lives criss-cross until things break. There are a lot of twists and turns in the story and it’s an emotional rollercoaster. The empathy you feel for a character turns to shock and anger then to sympathy, then while flip-flopping for another! When the book is over, it may not be finished for Emily or Victoria. The narration by Shannon Nicole Locke is wonderful. Her vocal performance, inflection and intonation is absolutely perfect for the atmospheric feeling of the story. I look forward to more from the author and the narrator!

Pretty good

I wasn’t sure at first where the story was going, and then what a plot twist! In the end I really enjoyed it and you could tell the narrator has acting experience. She played out the dual parts wonderfully. Good read!

Just alright

I read some of the reviews after listening to this book, and I laughed out loud at a comment that compared the narrator to Captain Kirk. The - word - by- word- reading- did- not -help - this- book.

A little hard to get into.

This book is a good thriller but it was a little slow in the beginning and hard for me to get into the story.

Super good

The narration was perfect for the characters, and the story was so good with lots of twists and turns until the very end.

Chilling

This psychological thriller was chilling. The heroine was convincing which was scary. She was truly a psychopath. The scary thing is Hudson's sister, Victoria was just as conniving and manipulative. Narrator Shannon Nicole Locke was fantastic!

Terrible

I am going to have a hard time trusting reviews after this! There was no story. I’m still not sure what this book was about. The narration was probably the worst I’ve ever heard! Do not torture yourself with this audiobook. I have no clue how it got any good reviews!
