Funny

The narrator did an amazing job. I enjoyed listening to the story and Alice made me laugh through out the story. The only issue I have is that I really couldn't connect with the Tom's character. At the beginning I understood he was meant to be unlikable, but it didn't change for me as the book ended. If not for that issue it would have been a 5 star rating for romance comedy.

Entertaining fun listen

4.5 Stars for Bagging Alice (Babes of Brighton #3)
Audio Review
Laura Barnard is relatively new to me and the narrator Victoria Riley is new to me but Brighton is my old stomping ground and I was drawn to a story based in a town I knew so well and I wasn’t disappointed. The narrator did a great job of bring the characters to life and making me feel like I was home in the UK instead of Sydney Australia.
Alice’s life has gone down fast thanks to her ex and she now finds herself looking for a roommate and it seems the only candidate is Tom ( Man Whore) Maddens who is also looking for a fresh start. Friends recommend they become Roomies and Alice is not happy about this arrangement but she soon realises this is her only option. They say there is a fine line between love and hate and this couple are certainly walking a fine line when it’s comes to attraction add in sizzling chemistry and a adorable puppy named Pickles you soon have hate turning to love but can Tom convince Alice he is a changed man....
I enjoyed this witty, fun, entertaining audio book and I will certainly be checking out other books in this series.

a laugh a minute

Uproariously funny!! When Tom confronted Alice's ex I thought I'd die laughing. Alice's family were major D bags and disgusting. I had an idea her brother was a dawg. I wanted to throat punch Alice when she put Tom out and took so long to come to her senses!! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job. Loved it.

A challenging love story!

I asked to receive this free review audible book and wrote this unbiased review. Laura Bernard has written such a realistic love story that covers many of today's issues. Some of the issues addressed are workplace sexual harassment by a female boss, sexual pictures posted on the internet without consent, death and the "what ifs" that follow it, discontent in families, revenge, and building relationships. Tom and Alice did not plan on falling in love but as their relationship develops they find that there will be many pitfalls along the way. The big question they have to answer is whether these challenges will tear them apart or bring them together.

Victoria Riley did a brilliant job of portraying the emotions and personalities of these characters. When I get so involved with the story that lack of dual narration isn't an issue, I know that the narrator has done an excellent job. I highly recommend this Audible book.

Enjoyed the story

Although I have read a few books by Laura Barnard, the narrator Victoria Riley is relatively new to me . This is an enemies to lovers story and since I was in Brighton last year, I could easily visualize the scenery ans the places that were talked about.

When Alice life begins to implode thanks to a vindictive ex, she has no alternative but to look for someone to share her flat. Tom “Man Whore” Maddens need a fresh start and when he is looking for a place to stay, some mutual friends suggest he shares with Alice. Alice is initially against the idea but once reality sets in, she realises she has no choice and this is when the fun really begins.

Despite themselves the chemistry and attraction between Alice and Tom is intense. Add in an adopted puppy called Pickles and there were some humorous situations occurring. I really enjoyed the camaraderie with the secondary characters who were entertaining.

Can Tom convince Alice that he is a changed man and that there is more to him than his previously wild ways? As their relationship develops Can Alice and Tom, get through the emotional baggage from their past as well as deal with the issues they are currently facing professionally? Or will Alice’s continued judgement of Tom’s behaviour push him back to his man about town ways?

I enjoyed the story line however I could not relate to the narrator at all. I felt that her male voices in particular did not do justice to the story and it distracted me. However, that is just my opinion.
