Loves it!

I've read this series already but I enjoyed listening to it also. Are the remaining books on audio yet?

Great book.

This is a great book. I will be reading / listening to the rest in the series. very well done.

Great series, bad narrator

I have been a fan of the Vampire Huntress Series since the beginning. I'm very excited that Audible has the first 2 books in the series available. Unfortunately, the narrator of these books really detracts from the greatness of the stories. Ms. Huber is excellent at the basic narration of the book but the voices that she uses while trying to capture the urban feel of the characters is quite literally laughable. At times it borders on being stereotypically offensive. The publisher (Penguin?) of Ms. Banks' series really needs to look into getting a narrator that can fully capture the spirit and characters of this wonderful series.

Because of the narrator I am forced to give this book 4 stars instead of 5.

Good Urban Fantasy, well read.

What does Hillary Huber bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She does the voices of characters from different ethnic backgrounds very well, very believably.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Evil is all around us, but a small group of committed vampire hunters are here to kick ass.

LOVE THIS SERIES!

Second book in the series! Love it! I own all of the series, thought I would "re-read" it again this way...so I can hear it as I drive. The only thing I can say is, reading it yourself is way better! While I love this series...the voices weren't at all the way they were in my head. Sorry, the easiest way for me to say this is...You can't Fake Ghetto...or hood talk! The voice artist, I am sorry made it sound hella square or shall I say hella white...I am sorry...Just saying. Other then that GREAT BOOK!

Great book, BUT

Great book, BUT as a previous readers have stated... the narrator was ALL WRONG. Even if you've never read the series, you'd know within the first 5 minutes of listening that she wascthe wrong selection. Other than that, L. A. Banks work is to tier. RIP Ms. Banks
