Publisher's summary

Wolf shifter Aspen is exhausted and needs a break from the high-fashion, celebrity world of runway modeling. The visions he's experienced all his life are getting worse, making him feel even more peculiar and disconnected. And while he doesn't want to be a burden to anyone, when he's invited to stay with his adopted brother Wulf's small pack of misfits, Aspen relishes the idea of finding a place to belong.

When Gabe's military career ends due to life-changing injury, he has no idea where to go and gratefully accepts a place with his old friend Cory and his mate, Wulf. Immediately drawn to the beautiful and unearthly Aspen, Gabe fears he is not good enough for him, and avoids Aspen until he can't stay away any longer.

As danger stalks their pack, Aspen and Gabe must overcome their insecurities to recognize they just might be mates and learn who they really are to protect those they love.

Contains mature themes.

Banished: Love this series for outsiders

It took a little bit to get into the series, and each book had it's own incline to climb due to the serious issues raised. They must be common issues for each book to be so troubling at first, but BA Tortuga's novels are always unique and become riveting no matter what, so if I'm uncomfortable in the beginning, I stick with them. This 3rd book was the most troubling for me to start. There were sound issues on one of my devices, but I stuck with it even through all the low voices (always intentional in this book, not a technical error--John has a strong voice and he did in this book too, but the MCs always talked low to each other, intimately). I felt it was the best book of the three when I was finished.

Tortuga's writing is above par, another reason to read them. Each book is different from the prior one. You wouldn't think so because all the players in this chosen family grew up in the same pack, each went away and created widely disparate lives, and then came home to an old home under new management, so to speak, by one of their own. And now he's changed everything and welcomes everyone into the pack. If you're looking for both the realistic and fantastic in the shapeshifter genre, this is a great series.

John Solo is perfect for this series. Highly recommended
