Not sure how they expect us to follow along and repeat the tongue twisters?????? Do they expect us to write ALL of them down. Very disappointed I was really looking forward to this.
Say something about yourself!
I have had this book in written form for about a year. It was no nice to finally have the audio version, so instead of leafing through pages to find my work out I just dial it up on audio. It is great to practice along with Rodney and his energy and enthusiasm really come through! If you sing or do voice over...you need this audio book!
Yes, I would, because I find the information helpful and inspirational. I read parts of Tongue Twisters and Vocal Warm-Ups daily.
The vocal warm-ups and positive advice.
Hearing how a professional voice-over actor does an audio book, and the positive encouragement he offers.
There is so much insight that he offers. I practice the vocal warm-ups and tongue twister exercises daily and I really appreciate the business career advice he provides.
Rodney willingly shares information with others to help them be successful.
No question about it!! This book provides the confidence that so many lack because of a failure to master speaking. I have few friends who are actively in voice over, but many whom are active in some form of public speaking or who desire to be and the fear that comes along with standing in front of group of people is one thing, but also not having the command of words compounds that fear. I trust Rodney Saulsberry's proven techniques and I firmly believe that they can help me friends elevate their game in whatever industry or profession.
Toure Roberts "Purpose Awakening". The reason I say this because I see Toure Roberts book as the essential guide to purpose discovery and activation that lead to confidence in life. Likewise, Rodney's book is a guide to mastery of voice, which is essential to building confidence in communication and thus confidence to express oneself.
Rodney's performance is solid! His tone and diction are clear (of course) and the book is easy to follow. Balanced with real life experience and relatable stories along with tips, tools, and techniques provided me the listener/reader with a flow that was easy to follow. Definitely a book I would listen to over and over again.
Absolutely. You are being trained just listening to Rodney's voice alone. The intentionality of each word and knowing they are purposefully planned and not convoluted and confusing makes this a book worth putting two hours aside for.
I read Rodney Saulsberry's first book "You Can Bank on Your Voice", which provided a section on vocal tips and warm ups. That book was essential to my career growth as it made me elevate my speaking when I gave small and large group presentations. This book digs even deeper into the nuts and bolts of the essential elements of speaking and pushes one to be confidence within one self especially after putting these tools to work. Bravo!! Bravo on a job well done!!
I have the hard copy, and now the audio for driving. Excellent lessons and warm-ups. -Dan Jones
If you are a voice actor, singer, public speaker, teacher, etc. you use your voice right? Then you need this book! I have the hard copy in my studio and the audible copy on my phone. It is a MUST have. It will not only teach you a lot about your voice and how to exercise it and use it to its fullest, but Rodney Saulsberry is a true pro and loves helping folks like you and me to be as good as we can be with our voice!
Yes, I would highly recommend this book to not only voice talent, but anyone who uses their voice for a living. Teachers, singers, actors, or speakers, this is the book for you! Your vocal health is imperative to a productive career in an industry that requires you to use your voice daily.
The most memorable moments of this book I believed to be were the uniqueness of the tongue twisters. They are different than anything I have ever experienced and extremely useful in every genre of voice work.
My favorite were the spoken word tongue twisters. They force you to be articulate and be very focused.
Although, I didn't listen to the book in one sitting, it is a book that you will go to several times for practice.
I highly suggest this book for anyone who uses their voice frequently. Rodney Saulsberry provides good advice for keeping those vocal cords healthy and gives you plenty to practice keeping you articulate and focused.
As a voice actor, it's great to be able to hear Rodney voice the vocal warm-ups and tongue twisters. I recommend both the printed version and the audiobook version so you have access to the scripts to practice, as well being able to hear Rodney show you how it's done.
It's incredibly valuable to have access to this amazing information to keep your vocal chops in tip top shape.
Rodney does a great job throughout articulating the vocal warm-ups.
I use his tips and scripts all the time in my VO work to get my vocal chords warmed up.
Great companion to the printed version. Buy them both!!
