When Mac was just 16 years old, he lost his beloved mother to breast cancer. While he grew up, she was a tough but loving teacher of life lessons and "Mac-isms" that would carry him through many hardships. These lessons gave him an inner strength that led him to choose hope over despair, and to follow his dream of becoming a comedian.
Mac recounts his slow rise to stardom, from doing stand-up at a church dinner at age eight, to performing in amateur open-mike nights to make ends meet, to eventually entertaining huge audiences on stage and in film and television. He also shares the secrets to life, and to comedy, that he learned along the way.

Maybe You Never Cry Again
I enjoyed this audible of Bernie Mac. He was quite funny and animated. There were certain parts of his story that caused me to cry. Bernie Mac will be remembered as one of the most funniest comedians during my time.
I love comedy and humor books!
Bernie Mac is a great storyteller as well as a great comedian. What determination, drive and stamina. I felt bad that such a talented comedian from such an early age, had such a long hard journey reaching his goal, and then died at 50. At least he reached his dream, and always believed in himself. It kept me engaged until the end.
Yes I will get story and it motivate you to never give up on your dream. Great man, I wish he was here today.
Bernie's Mother and His Great Mother, no matter what happens they knew he would be ok.

Big Nigga, I thought it was funny he really called him that.
When he came up with the saying "I aint scared of you MF's"
Nothing like hearing his voice, tell his story
Great book, makes me sad that he is gone. RIP Mac Man
Due to mistakes (a few stumbles and mumbles throughout), it is clear that Bernie Mac is not a professional narrator but that is a part of the charm of listening. This is a real person telling their life story.
There are very few laughs in this book but if you are interested in learning about the man behind the laughs--his struggles, tragedies and successes--you will find this worthwhile.
Emotional story, so many different levels of experiences as he takes you along with him through his past. I loved it R>I>P Mac Man :-)
"It's going right back on"
The only bad thing that I can say is that I wish it was longer. What a joy to hear. I have been a fan from the Kings of comedy to house party 3. It was wonderful to get to know more about him and his up bringing. It's a most listen and as the title says "it's going right back on"
I wanted to know a little bit about this talented comedian who died too young. Loved the story- lots of wise advice which is of course wrapped in funny :)
"Comedy Genius takes you through every emotion!"
Straight from the horses mouth! Every sigh, pause and chuckle had an impact. Fantasic story telling. It felt like you were listening to a friend on the telephone. Perfection!
Bernie of course! His wife is a strong lady also!
Stand up and films are great but this book allows the listener to know the real Man behind the Comedy
I dont want to spoil it for other listeners but it is a roller coster ride of emotions.
Perfection! Never gave up on his dream and he wasn't afraid not to conform!
R.I.P Bernie Mac after listening to this I feel like I know you and you seem like a great man!
