Can't wait for book 2 later this month!!

So this was my first book I read/listened to of Mila Young. Yes, I know. I am way late to the program! I have had her on my TBR list for forever and am so excited I listened to Book 1 in her Gods and Monsters series! It was really well done and I am super excited to dive into the other books❤️

So I will first touch on the narration. I really liked the various narrators in this mashup. I thought Stacy did a phenomenal job and will check out other books she has narrated previously. I am unsure who did which guy, but I really loved the timbre of Hades' voice and loved the expressiveness of Apollo's voice. I thought this team was stellar and hope everyone stays on for the rest of the series! Amazing job guys, you really brought these characters to life and helped me imagine the scenes vividly.

In terms of the story, there were times I was brought out of the world because of how things were done. Now, I loved the storyline and characters, but some of the MC's lines/feelings got repetitive and could have been trimmed down or reworded so readers wouldn't notice. That was the only reason I couldn't give this 5 stars across the board. I am interested to read/listen to book 2 to see how everything develops. I fell in love with mythology with books like Percy Jackson and this series has jumped up my TBR list. I am gonna wait until book 2 is out this month and then devour books 3 and 4 haha. Yay for self-control, sorta haha.

Definitely pick this audiobook up! You will be sucked in and will love everything about it. I can't wait to see how the MC deals with all the hottie gods in her life and hope for more battles with mythological creatures. Also, she needs to forgive Hades and reconnect, if you get my drift hehe 😉😍❤️

Good Start of Series

Book 1 is a good start to the series. With interesting and relatable main amd supporting characters the reader is kept engaged through out. The narrator does a wonderful job bringing the story & characters to life. I would like more of a build up to the romantic relationships being that Im not a fan of insta- love or attraction. But overall this is a good start of series

I was given this book for free at my request but the opinion is of my own. Elise comes from a line of monster hunters given power by Zeus to protect humanity. As the only one that hasn’t either died or given up the cause Elise is thrown into a whole new situation she’s not sure of when death starts taking lives not due to die. She will have to handle new attractions and her duty to save human kind.

Multiple voices seem disjointed

Good enough story line. Suspect I would enjoy it more if I read it. The female voice is super whiny. The male voices super testosterone filled and aggressive. Trying too hard to sound Godlike.

Pure brain candy of the immortal kind.

This book is not my usual cup of tea. But it was fun. Pure brain candy.

If you're looking for a deep plot with twists and turns, look elsewhere. Likewise if you seek deep characters with lots of development and layers of complexity.

But if what you're looking for is entertainment that leans to the irreverent and definitely NSFW, this is your book.

In regards to this RH story, this is a solid book 1 in the series. They are not stand alone books. This one doesn’t quite end in a cliffhanger per se but a new character is introduced.
I held off starting this series with hopes the last 2 books would release on audible.
Hopefully soon

I absolutely love this book and the rest in this series! If you are looking for sexy adventure with wit then this and any other Mila Young book is the book for you!!

Apollo the God of Wow

Elyse has the blood of Zeus and as a Lowe she’s got a job to protect the humans and with this comes the fact that she has a few additional lives. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg along comes this hot guy on bike yummy instant attraction. For some reason or another Elyse is drawn to the man who is Apollo. But to add an awesome twist to the plot along comes Hades as he needs a break from the underworld after everything with Peresophone has fallen apart. He sees Elyse and she confronts him the next thing you know they are fighting and other activities. But Hades walks away. Hades also commits the biggest betrayal when he kills Elyse to save her from X want to know more well I’m not telling.
But the main part of this story isn’t really the Gods getting Elyse it’s her fighting X (Death). And what a fight that’s going to be. Apollo has to hide the fact that he’s fallen for a human otherwise Zeus will banish him back to Mount Olympus. All told an enjoyable listen/read that I would recommend to anyone.
Narration this is one of the best narrated books I have listened to that has multiple POVs as each character gets their own narrator. And well Hades voice is hot. But that being said each narrator nails their character.
