Compelling and inspirational Must read
I am so thankful for her willingness to go back into the nightmare to bring this book to fruition. While I have read many accounts of the holocaust this one was different. Seen through the eyes of a child that became an adult so young. A daily walk in the life and the courageous ingenuity used to care for and generously share all that she had and more.

ABSOLUTE MUST!!
A reminder that we cannot ERASE history, we must learn from it. This story was not written to be a love story, a romantic tragedy, or a piece of fiction. It is an HONEST representation of how one young Jewish girl grew up, lost her childhood & her family during one of the most horrific times in European history. The best part is this is written BY Alicia, in her words from her memories. She was courageous not because she wanted to be but because she HAD to be. Please read this story for yourself, to your kids, to your grandkids. This also would be an excellent book club read and discussion.

A Brave, Intelligent, Compassionate Teen
Alicia: My Story is a very worthwhile read. From earlier reading I thought I knew an awful lot about what happened in Europe during WWII. I almost didn’t purchase the audiobook. I am so glad I did! Even though, Alicia’s account breaks my heart, it also fills me with amazement and pride that she was able to survive so magnificently. This isn’t an account about the Nazi prison camps, It is about what it was like for Jewish people before, during, and after the Nazis. I learned quite a bit.

This book is without a doubt one of the best accounts of an individual holocaust experience that I have read. Definitely do not skip the epilogue!

I love Alicia’s strength, bravery and love for others.
Alicia spent so many years helping others survive and her selflessness is remarkable. I highly recommend anyone read this powerful story.
I admire Alicia’s willingness to relive her horrifying memories and sadness to write this story so her readers can learn and grow from her bravery and sad experiences.
