An OK Book, not great
The female lead was a wimp. She wasn't that likeable. she was way too clingy to the son. The male lead was OK, but too subservient to the female lead. drama was too predictable. I did complete the book, but not impressed.

Quite the mystery
Full of suspense. Fleshed out characters. You feel like you really get to know them. Of course the narrator enhances the characters by bringing them to life. And she did that. I always knew who was talking. Old Southern family money, murder and cover-ups. Great twists and turns. Well worth the listen and I'll get more of this authors book in the future.

Good!
Caught my attention right away, and every time I thought I had it figured out, something new happened.
The story was hurt by a lack of understanding about how law enforcement and the legal system works.
Thus the conclusion left a lot of loose ends. In theory, you know who did what, but not really.

keeps you guessing
story was good and held my interest. I just don't understand why authors feel they need to put so much explicit sex in the book. that's why I enjoy books by David Baldacci so much, he writes stories that hold your interest without all the sex.

Great story of love, mystery, and old Southern charm!
I recommend this book to any Southern woman for sure! This was a great story of redemption and righting many wrongs.
I’ve seen some negative reviews regarding the sexual content, I believe this book is very mild considering some romance novels and not near as vulgar! The passion between Lane and Johnny Mac was beautiful! I enjoyed ever part of this book!
