Hilarious, fascinating, and a roller coaster of dizzying, historical what-ifs, Napoleon's Hemorrhoids is a potpourri for serious historians and casual history buffs. In one of Phil Mason's many revelations, you'll learn that Communist jets were two minutes away from opening fire on American planes during the Cuban missile crisis, when they had to turn back as they were running out of fuel. You'll discover that before the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon's painful hemorrhoids prevented him from mounting his horse to survey the battlefield.

No topic is too lowly for the author's wonder and admiration, from the careful choreography of breaking wind to the precise internal communication required for a cleansing vomit.

In Your Brain Is a Time Machine, brain researcher and best-selling author Dean Buonomano draws on evolutionary biology, physics, and philosophy to present his influential theory of how we tell and perceive time. The human brain, he argues, is a complex system that not only tells time but creates it; it constructs our sense of chronological flow and enables "mental time travel" - simulations of future and past events.

This study Guide is a MUST-HAVE for ASEA1 Success!
OMG, let me tell you about this incredible find – the "SE A1 Engine Repair Study Guide" by Amsusa Learning. As a woman of a particular age-who's always eager to expand my skill set, I was feeling a bit underprepared and jittery about tackling the ASE A1 exam. But wow, this study guide changed everything!
Royce Turner's narration is just fantastic – it's like having a study coach right there with you; in your ear- LOL! The over 180 questions and answers was even clearer with the help of this audiobook-and there were thorough explanations and encouragement right throughout! BTW, his explanations are so thorough, it's like a lightbulb going off in your head with each one-LOL!
The topics covered in this guide, for example the section on Engine Diagnosis was presented in an easy to understand way, that even a newbie like me could understand clearly and hold my own in my exams. And those three full-length practice tests? Well even though tests are not my strong suit, these practice quizzes helped me build confidence to tackle my final exams like a pro! They even gave little tips like advice on test fees and certification maintenance – things that a novice wouldn't have readily known.
If you're a person like me, who is always seeking to conquer new challenges, build new skill sets and level up in your career, then this study guide is an absolute must-have. Trust me, it's the confidence boost you need to crush that ASE A1 exam and show them who's boss!
