Publisher's summary

The answer to whether or not we're alone in the universe is about to escape.

Reports of unknown objects in the sky date back hundreds of years. But since the early twentieth century, the frequency of those reports has increased dramatically. To combat the alien threat they see looming on the horizon, the US government initiated the A.L.I.V.E. (Alien Life In Vitro Experiment) Project.

Working from Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dr. Maeve Leander has been in charge of Alvie, the first subject from the A.L.I.V.E. Project, for the last three years. But she's been part of the project much longer—ever since she was a child and her mother ran the project. But Alvie is more than just some experimental subject. He's family, the only family Maeve has left.

When a new agency takes over the A.L.I.V.E. Projects, though, Maeve learns that Alvie wasn't the only subject created. Caught in the middle of a giant war game, Maeve ends up in a race for her life. But this time it’s not just humans who are the combatants.

As the violence increases and the chances for survival decrease, she realizes one terrifying truth: despite its name, the real goal of the projects is to make sure no one gets out alive.

Fans of Douglas E. Richards, Michael Crichton, and E.T. will love the A.L.I.V.E. Series!

What Readers are Saying:

“Loved it! Can't wait for the next book! Loved it, Loved it! Killed it!”

“When I read the description for this book, I wasn't sure I wanted to read an "alien/UFO" story. But then I remembered how much I enjoyed reading Hominid, which is also about a subject I wasn't sure I wanted to read. So I made the purchase and read the book, and I learned that I apparently do enjoy reading "alien/UFO" stories, at least when Brady writes about them!”

Fun alien story with virtual voice narration

The story was fun but not memorable. Virtual narration was good after 5 minutes but I imagine it will get better in the future especially with a human editor/director for dialog and accents

Interesting take on theories I've heard.

I liked the references made to theories I've heard forever. Some of the aliens were a little too unreal. The story was good. If the next book comes out I'll listen.
I was a little surprised at how often I forgot the narration was artificial. In a book that has more emotional conversations it would stand out more.

Good story, fun ideas, good twists, but ... there are hiccups.

I tripped across this series and gave it a whirl. I very much enjoyed the story and concept. Virtual voice narration worked well despite the flattened delivery and occasional mispronounciation (but, hey, English is hard :-)

Unfortunately, the series needs editing, and more so as it progresses. It eventually became quite distracting :-(

probably a better read then a listen

this would easily be a 4 star book or better with a real narrator. it's probably a great read but virtual voice ruins all the feeling in this one it was hard to follow and feel for the characters
