Publisher's summary

Can a Christmas miracle bring a Southern belle into the arms of a Union soldier?

Violet Bloom leaves Charleston to come west as a mail-order bride. But when she steps off the stagecoach, she's greeted by tragic news. She vows to begin anew in Wylder, to lay haunting memories to rest, and find peace.

Former Union soldier Thomas Harvey's dreams of homesteading are crushed, along with his heart, at the passing of his wife. He moves to town and struggles to survive - not for himself, but for his spirited young daughter.

After Thomas rescues Violet during a snowstorm, neither has any thought of romance. But Christmas magic is in the air. It's a time of forgiveness and new beginnings - even for lost souls.

They'll have a Wylder Christmas

Violet Bloom is the new schoolteacher in Wylder, Wyoming and is determined to make her first Christmas party for the town special. Thomas Harvey wasn’t expecting to fall in love. They’ll be thrown together by a snowstorm. When there pasts come into play it just make for a Wylder Christmas alone for Thomas and Violet. Can they overcome the past to find love?

Wylder Christmas is the fourth book in the Wylder, Wyoming series. This series brings together authors from the Wild Rose Press family to write a Multi-author series. This series revolves around the citizens in the booming western town that has growing pains. Wylder, Wyoming. The first four books bring new people to town and brings them together with the local citizens. These western historical romances will take you to 1878 Wyoming where these characters face danger, passion, the weather conditions, wild horses and their pasts to try and find true love. These stories can be read as a stand-alone book. So, welcome to Wylder, Wyoming where anything may happen, and love abounds. I very much enjoyed these stories. Take a trip to Wylder, Wyoming to fall in love with these wonderful characters and a unique town in the wild west. I’m anxiously awaiting my return to Wylder, Wyoming and finding the next group of citizens and maybe newcomers to fall in love with and who will be next to find true love.

Christmas in February!

When I saw this book, I knew I would love it! Holiday, western romance! How can I go wrong! I have immersed myself in the Wylder stories and this is a wonderful addition. Sarita Leone creates a beautiful romance with obstacles like no other we can imagine. Violet Bloom moves to Wylder, Wyoming to be the new school teacher. When she finds herself in several predicaments in her new town, Thomas, a former confederate soldier is there coming to her aid. And though thankful in her mind for his help, she can't seem to get past the fact he fought for the opposite side of her family. But Leone continues their path, not only with a beautiful love story, but a hint of suspense and a Christmas pageant that brought tears to my eyes. Silent Night is my favorite! This is the kind of listen you will want to cuddle up with, and enjoy under a blanket.

Dawson McBride and his voice as so good, they bring this story alive. He has such a wonderful sound and pace. Easy going, warm, it flows through you and lets you take in the story and enjoy. It's another fantastic narration.

A Wylder Christmas

A wonderful delightful story. Violet is a school teacher in a wild unruly world. She was found in a snow drift by Tom . He took her home to his home to help her. I received a arc of this book and I highly enjoyed and recommend listening to this book.

The Southern Belle and the Union Soldier

Violet Bloom is no shrinking violet. She left her home in the south during the era of reconstruction, heading west to be a mail-order bride. That takes guts. Then she discovers she’s on her own, so she takes up a job teaching. She enjoys the work, often having to make do with few resources. She’s not used to snow, though, and gets caught up in a storm. But Thomas is there to rescue her. Thus begins an interesting relationship.

Thomas’ story is also tragic. My heart broke for the widower and his young daughter. He’s tried to make a good life for himself so he can provide a steady and loving home. He also fought with the Union Army. The army Violet blames for the death of her beloved brother. Talk about conflict. Of course most of us, even non-Americans, have a view of the war through a modern-day lens. Choosing to write a character from the south so soon after the war ended was an interesting choice.

The other interesting choice was to make the entire book from Violet’s perspective. Generally, I prefer the dual point of view books when reading a romance, but this worked just fine. I wanted to know more about Thomas, but the subplot involving a Chinese woman kept me plenty occupied.

I enjoyed the book, all the more because of Dawson McBride’s narration. He did well with this series and I look forward to more Wylder books because, frankly, I’m falling in love with the little town in the Wyoming Territory in 1878.

Heartwarming story of love

This is another fascinating Wylder western. Dawson McBride has a warm flowing voice that brings the characters to life and make the book a real listening pleasure. He gives the characters distinctive voices and makes one feel the emotions that the characters are experiencing. Sarita Leone has several different elements going on in the story. A few at the end really took me by surprise. I love how she developed her characters. Tom is trying to heal a broken heart. He is compassionate, protective, and loving. Violet is compassionate, loving, and naive of dangers in the old west. I highly recommend this Audible book.
